Besoin et animaux

We have three Maremma Sheepdogs (Cane di Maremmano Abruzezzi Pastore) - they are VERY LARGE white fluffy dogs. They are pets and guardians to our 14 chickens. They live outside full-time but enjoy coming inside for cuddles. They are very affectionate dogs but VERY LARGE. We have a male called Flint and female called Yeti and a puppy called Wags - they love each other very much. We also have a boy cat named Piper but he doesn’t like strangers too much so you wouldn’t see much of him. Then there is Smudge our female cat and her kitten Bandit. Finally we have 2 goats called Flora and Violet. The farm animals are easy and only take 10 minutes a day to feed, water and collect eggs. The dogs always want attention but you can happily leave them outside and go and explore the area all day.

Logement

Set in rural Hertfordshire but with walking distance of a traditional village Pub. The barn is set in 3 acres and is a 10 minute drive to two small towns and a main rail station that goes to Cambridge (25 mins) and a London (50 mins). We are 25 mins from London Stansted Airport. Hertfordshire is a rural green county of rolling hills. We have barn owls and kestrels nesting on our property. We have planted a new vineyard and lavender field. We need sitters to care for our dogs, cats, chickens and goats. You will have plenty of time to explore. The locals are very grand welcoming you might even meet some film stars in our pub!

It’s a bit crazy living in a small space with three giant dogs. The dogs can be left outside all the time and wear radio collars. The house is very comfortable and modern - we have a fully appointed annexe/apartment or you may choose to stay in the house. We have 3 pubs that you can walk to but you need a car. We can arrange a hire car for you. We are on the outskirts of the village with only 2 neighbours about 400m away. It is very rural but very secure behind electric gates.

Cambridge is full of stunning architecture, go punting or visit the Fitzwilliam Museum. Cambridge has vibrant shopping and art/culture. The open top bus tour is great or book a guided tour to see the beautiful colleges. Buntingford is a pretty town 10 mins away with cafes, restaurants, pubs, cheese shop, supermarkets and shops. You can drive to Royston or Stevenage and take a fast train to London or Cambridge. There are some beautiful stately homes/chateau to visit: Knebworth/Hatfield House/Wimpole Hall/Audley End/Anglesey Abbey.

Hello My boyfriend and I had a such a great time in the lovely home of Leah and Allan. We had taken care of their 3 dogs ( sheperds of maremme and abruzze) 2 cats 2 goats and a bunch of chickens. The 3 dogs are very very good, easy going and brave. Besides they are all of them big cuddle bugs. This breed is very special and precious. The 2 cats are very friendly and playful animals and purrs motors :) With the goats and chickens, they form a lovely animals crew. The house is well decorated, special prize for the fun Rabbit room, in which I slept. Leah and Allan are attentive, charming and wellcoming people. They will do anything to make you feel cosy and good at their place. They are also very reactive when they are abroad if you ask them anything about the pets or their home. Leah and Allan are also very keen to give you piece of advices regarding the visit of surrounding. I recommand a lot theis petsitting and housesitting.

We had such a nice time at Leah and Alan's house who assisted us to get to their place and gave us a warm welcome. The house is very is very beautiful, in a very nice quiet and preserved environment and very comfortable to stay in. The 3 dogs are lovely, they have their habits and freedom outside the house. The 2 cats were part of life for eating and also very independent. All this little farm area with chickens and goats is also lovely. We kept in touch regularly every day.Thank you Leah and Alan for trusting us and we are very glad we met you and had the time to have some nice quality discussions.

J'ai fait chez Leah et Alan le plus génial de tous mes home-sittings ! Ils sont la quintessence de la gentillesse et de la générosité. La communication avec eux est formidable, et ils ont un sens de l'humour extraordinaire. Leurs deux chiens Flint et Yeti sont deux gros bébés adorables qui sont des gourmands de calins. Les grandes promenades avec eux sont un véritable plaisir que permet l'infinie variété de chemins au milieu des champs et dans la fôret. Nourir les poules et récolter les oeufs, tous les matins, était une première pour moi et m'a provoqué une joie d'enfant. Le chat Piper est très discret. La maison et le jardin, malgré les travaux sont d'un grand confort. Le paysage et la région sont sublimes et chaque journée fût un émerveillement. Les villes alentours sont toutes magnifiques et méritent d'être visitées. J'ai eu la chance d'avoir une météo très douce et ensoleillée pendant tout mon séjour. Je n'ai manqué de rien et ai été comblée. Leah et Alan ont pourvu à tous mes besoins et ont tout fait pour que je ne manque de rien. La confiance qu'ils m'ont accordée m'a énormément touchée. J'ai été traitée comme une princesse ! Ils m'ont aussi rapporté un cadeau de leurs vacances. Je les adore et espère les revoir bientôt ! They are the epitome of kindness and generosity. The communication with them is great, and they have an extraordinary sense of humour. Their two dogs Flint and Yeti are two big adorable babies who are lovers of cuddles. The large walks with them are a real pleasure that allows the infinite variety of paths in the middle of the fields and in the forest. Feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs every morning was a first for me and gave me a childhood joy. The Piper cat is very discreet. The house and garden, despite the works are of great comfort. The landscape and the region are sublime and every day was a wonder. The surrounding towns are all beautiful and worth visiting. I was lucky to have a very warm and sunny weather throughout my stay. I didn’t miss anything and I was fulfilled. Leah and Alan provided for everything I needed and made sure I didn’t miss anything.
