We have two cats, they are nine years old and very sweet They come from the same nest and get along great. Since we have a dog (we'll take him with us on our trip) they are more careful and live more upstairs but otherwise they like to snuggle up with us. One is more shy than the other. They can go in and out of the house through a catdoor. They just need food and some loving attention.

Our dates are still flexible but we like to leave somewhere in february and be back end of march. We would want you to come one or two days earlier so we can show you the ropes and introduce you to our neighbours.

We live just outside a small village in Mid-Sweden about 250 km north of Stockholm. Beautiful rustic farmhouse from 1851 that we renovated from the ground up and transformed into a warm and comfortable house where people find it easy to feel at home. The house is wood-heated and well insulated. Near by the forest and the village (3km), where you'll find a supermarket and a pizzaria. The garden of the house borders the Hoån; an idyllic small river that meanders through the friendly valley and opens onto the beautiful lake 'Ottnaren'. In the winter there are plenty of possibilities for ice-skating on the frozen lakes and for skiing. Kungsberget is about a 40 minutes drive from us and it is the largest skiing resort in this region with 19 slopes and 10 lifts. Garanteed snow from november till april!.

Besides ice-skating and skiing...all year round it is possible to visit some of the old mines in the area of which The Falun Gruva is world famous.
Falun was Sweden's second-largest town in the 17th century and its copper production affected the economic, social and political situation throughout Europe. This is why the historic industrial landscape around Stora Kopparberget (the Great Copper Mountain) and Falun were inscribed on UNESCO's list of World Heritage sites in 2001. varldsarvetfalun.se
Stockholm is about a 2hr traintrip away.

What can we say... after spending two months looking after Lisan & Jan's home and two adorable cats, we left a piece of our heart in Sweden.
Lisan and Jan went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, loved and appreciated from day one.
They took the time to introduce us to their neighbours, their friends, showed us around, left us with a car and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Sintje and Dintje are two of the most cuddly, affectionate cats we've ever had the pleasure to care for; absolute sweethearts!
The home is beautiful and requires an active approach as it is wood heated and in the countryside during winter time (aka could be lots of snow), but we were up for the challenge and it was rewarding all around. It is clean, spacious, quiet and just serene.
Tack tack to both of you for making this probably the most enjoyable house sitting experience we've had so far.
Sophie & Philippe
