Sandy is from Canada, Rick is from Australia, we met in Africa and now we live in Canada. Sandy is a semi-retired engineer while Rick still works sometimes remotely as a computer programmer. We have worked in North America, Europe, Africa and South America and have four different passports between us - Australia, UK, the Netherlands and Canada. We speak English and Dutch, and can get by in French and German.
Since we sold our house in 2019, we decided to travel more and join Nomador to enjoy life in different countries. Our plan is to move to France one day!
We love animals but our lifestyle does not make it easy to own them, so we enjoy looking after other people's pets
In Hawaii we owned and managed a successful vacation rental (over 50 five-star reviews), so we are experienced with taking care of a house. We are non-smokers.

Nous avons travaillé en Amérique du Nord, en Europe, en Afrique et en Amérique du Sud et avons quatre passeports différents entre nous - l’Australie, le Royaume-Uni, les Pays-Bas et le Canada. Sandy and her husband Rick were the perfect expat petsitting professionals to manage my feisty cat and care for my expat resort condo in Manama, Bahrain for a three week stay. They were attentive to the care & feeding requirements for the cat, kept me up to date on his shenanigans with texts and photos (not too frequently, just enough!). I connected them to my expat social circle before I left and got nothing but glowing reports about them from my friends upon my return. My flat was immaculate when I got home - litter box freshly changed, bed linens washed and the cat was happy and healthy. My only gripe is that Boris ignored me after I walked in the door and looked past me, obviously disappointed that it was just me and not his new playmates. :) Sandy and Rick, thanks for the special care you took in tending to Boris. I do hope you enjoyed your stay, because I’d love to have you back again anytime! Cheers!
It was a pleasure having Sandy and Rick stay at our house and so much better for the dogs than a kennel. They were very considerate guests - the house was spotless and they replaced everything they used. They kept us informed of how it was going and they walked the dogs every day (not even we do that!) We have no hesitation in recommending them.

It was so important to me that I could travel and know that my pets and my home were well taken care of. Sandy and Rick were the best house sitters possible. I was able to travel without concerns. My dog, Lily, is very timid and does not take well to people she does not know. Rick and Sandy made it a priority to win her over and they did. When I came home I could see how much Lily enjoyed them. They communicated with me during my absence assuring me that all was well. The house was kept immaculate, cleaner then when I left it. They repaired a few things around the house and maintained the water system that was giving them trouble. They were so kind, they shopped for me so that my fridge was not empty on my return, they even had a dinner waiting for me. I hope they are available next year when I travel.
