Jacques and Jean Pierre have created a small paradise in their renovated historic home in Mirebeau-sur-Bèze. They were very warm and welcoming and we immediately felt at home. Overlapping for a day before they left on holiday worked out very well. The menagerie of animals includes two affectionate and well behaved dogs, an independent cat, rabbits, hens, roosters, ducks and geese. The two of us did the chores together each morning, which took about 20 minutes. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen, fresh eggs from the hens, and vegetables and herbs from the garden. Mirebeau markets supplied everything else that we needed and a bakery had wonderful breads and pastries. It’s a great place to relax, read, write, or watch movies in the evening on their flat screen TV. It is also easy to take day trips by bus (about an hour and only €1.50) into the city of Dijon. Dijon’s beautiful old city center has museums and many good restaurants. We rented a car for several days and were able to go to a wine festival in the Burgundy region. We highly recommend this place to two people who enjoy caring for animals and living on a small farm in a small town.
