Hello there! We are a couple with an adorable toddler who have just begun an adventure outside of our normal lives from Washington, DC, USA. Our goal is to travel while we work part-time (remotely), find ways to contribute to the lives of those around us and the communities we visit, and spend more time together as a family outside of the business of our normal everyday lives. As of January 2023, the adventure begins! We hope to be able to care for others' pets, plants, and homes along the way through Nomador. At home, we have both a cat and a dog (who are currently staying with friends) so we - and our son - are very good with them and comfortable with them. We have also hosted several different Nomadors at our apartment, and had them care for our pets - so feel free to look at our reviews, and rest assured that we know exactly how it feels to be in your shoes with someone coming in to care for your home! So we are neat, responsible, in communication, and always happy to help with whatever you need to ease your mind while you are away from home. Cheers!

I throughly enjoyed pet sitting for Juan & Karen! Sandy is thee BEST dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting; and Nugget the cat was super adorable! Juan & Karen were incredibly understanding and made sure that my stay was comfortable and they made sure to keep me informed at all times. They live in the BEST part of DC, a walkers paradise! The home is sunny bright and very comfortable, and the others in the complex were also very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely pet sit for them again. ✨

Loved staying at Juan and Karen's home! Sandy and Nugget were great companions for the week and very easy going. Felt very safe staying at their home in DC for me and Sandy's walks. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Nugget warmed up after a day or two (I'm sure food helped!) and got some nice cuddles in and was my WFH companion. I loved being able to explore DC and also meet with a few friends over the weekend. They were great hosts and quickly responded to any inquiries I had. Would love to watch Sandy and Nugget again in the future!

As far as "first Nomador house stays" go, I couldn't have had better hosts than Juan and Karen! They were so patient as I worked through my travel plans, addressed my concerns, and stayed in communication for the entire process. Their home was just what I needed for my stay, and their pets kept me from being homesick the entire time. Thank you both!

Juan and Karen are the absolute best homeowners to sit with. They had tons of recommendations of things to do local to the area and walked me through all of the needs + any little quirks of their apartment before they left. Their location is prime DC - easy to access the whole city via bus (across the street) or metro (10 min walk), and the neighborhood itself is cute with lots of small restaurants, a farmers market, and shops walking distance. Sandy (dog) is the most well trained, gentle, cuddly dog I have ever sat for. She loved joining me on meals at outdoor cafes and getting all the attention from people who walked by. Nugget (cat) is very sweet as well! She takes a minute to warm up to new people but was asking for pets by day 2 or 3. The apartment is well-equipped with a full kitchen, washer & dryer, and strong internet service. Everything you need to cook, work from home or relax after an afternoon of exploring the city. Would definitely recommend!
