We have a Shih Tzu dog and a calico cat. Both are 6 years old. Both are allowed outside in the backyard only. The dog has a leash for short walks around the community. He has a pillow to sleep on in the bedroom or in the upstairs hall and a doggy cube if he chooses to sleep on the main floor. The cat usually sleeps in another upstairs room, with the door open. Outside plants will need to be watered every few days.You might need to fill a propane tank once during your homestay. The propane guy comes into the community, will fill the tank and you will hook it up - very easy to do. In home washer and dryer for your use. Water bottles are delivered every Monday for good drinking/cookingwater. Manta is a delightful oceanside city with malls, markets, parks and great dining opportunities! It has a well developed taxi system. We don't have a car because of this. Trip to downtown (Mall del Pacifico) is $5.00 We would request that you never leave the animals alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time but otherwise, we encourage you to explore our city!

On the outer edge of the city of Manta, our home is in a stunning private gated/guarded community, complete with swimming pool, basketball court and clubhouse. End townhouse, 3 bedrooms and garage. Small backyard with grass, patio and plants/flowers. 10 minutes to Montecristi where the Panama hats are made by hand, 15 minutes to the beach. Family neighbourhood.

Comfortable home in a generally quiet neighbourhood . There is a community taxi co-op for easy transportation.About 2 km from grocery stores etc. Friendly neighbourhood (gated community) with mostly Ecuadorian families although 2 english speaking families live a few houses down from us. The builder of the community lives down our street and is from England. Very friendly modern community. Since we live on the edge of the city, we usually take 2-3 trips per week into town...$5.00 taxi fare.

Manta is very tourist focused. Cruise ships dock here, 11 beaches, great weather if you like sunshine! So many meal options and special local cuisines...ceviches, seafood etc. Growing expat community that has weekly gatherings at restaurants. Ecuadorian artisan community (Montecristi) and golf course 10 minutes away (by taxi). Rain forest, howler monkeys and national park 30 minutes from home.
