We have four female rats (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter) and need someone to take care of them while we are away. We would not expect you to spend time playing with them although you are free to do so if you feel like it. You would mainly have to make sure they have enough food and water EVERYDAY, and spend about 5 minutes cleaning the cage every day (or 10 minutes every other day, that part is flexible). Food and water need to be checked everyday: give the rats a bowl of dry food, and a cut a carrot or half an apple or half a banana for them. Cleaning is flexible and needs to be done more for your own comfort than any other reason (if you don't clean, it will smell). We recommend running a sponge over the surfaces of the cage quickly so as to remove urine and change the litter twice a week. It would be really nice if you could send us a few pictures! Thank you!
