Our house is a historic “Meulière”; a stone house typical of the Paris suburbs. We have preserved its character while updating it to be compatible with modern needs by adding a veranda extension, and a contemporary kitchen which opens onto a private patio area and a sloping garden beyond. The main living spaces are small but cozy with working fire places and plenty of light. The bedrooms on the upper floors have large windows. There is also an open office space on the top floor which can be used as wished; for study, painting, or additional sleeping space.

Our neighborhood is safe and quiet. A boulangerie , post office, épicerie are just around the corner and there is a small open market every Saturday on the village’s main square, just one block away. The town of Lagny-sur-Marne just across the river Marne has one of the best regional open food markets twelve minutes away by foot (or a five minute drive). It operates three times a week. A ten minute walk through town gets you to multiple walking trails along cultivated fields, the river or through woods and quaint towns. There is also a recreational lake nearby. The location is very convenient for trains that take 25 minutes to central Paris Gare de l’Est every 30 minutes. The station is 7 minutes away by foot. The Chessy train station close by (a 10 minute drive) serves as a hub to all train destinations in France, London and northern Europe. It can be reached by bus with a metro ticket. Driving into Paris takes about 20 minutes when traffic is clear. The Disney parks and entertainment centers are also 20 minutes away by car or public transport..
