Our cat is very friendly and needs company, but other than feeding her, she's very low-maintenance. The fireplace and heating system keep the house warm all winter, and run automatically, although you may need to vacuum the fireplace once or twice (we'll explain how).

We're travelling overseas for this period. It would be nice to meet you a day or more before we leave if it works out. We'd like to have the house occupied for most of this period to keep the cat company (although neighbours can feed her for a few days if needed).

You're welcome to browse our bookshelf and CDs. We don't have a TV, but you can connect your laptop to our large mac monitor if you want to watch things together. You can use our bikes to explore the neighbourhood (2 adults, 11-yr-old and 8-yr-old sizes).

We're in a village attached to a small town, about 30km from Bordeaux, and near a railway station (6 mins drive) for trips to Bordeaux. Our street is in an old part of town and very quiet. There's a good supermarket 8 minutes walk away, a good Saturday market in the adjoining town, which also has two bakeries, pharmacies, cafes, bookshop, etc. We're near the countryside, so even in winter there are nice walks to do from home.
There are a couple of rooms in the house not completely renovated, but everything is liveable (except for a third bedroom which is currently out of action). The main bedroom is light and spacious; the kids' room is smaller with two single beds. We have a very nice deck in front of the living room (although you probably won't use this much in winter). The garden has lots of space for kids (and the cat) to roam.
