Two lovely Weimaraners. Very energetic. Need to be taken out three times a day (maximum 7/8 hours indoor after long runs). Need to have safe off the lead time which can take a good 2 hours and the two other walks of about an hour to an hour and a half. But after that they are calm and sleep. The other two outings are for sniffing about the city or on the riverside. Good on terraces and in the pub. Very social! Lovely wooded, nature walks accessible in 30 to 45 minutes public transport. I also have plants that need to be watered, but the security and loving of the dogs is my priority!

I am looking to find someone who can at least come and stay for two of these weeks. I have a friend who will come for another two weeks and a kennel that can also take them for a time.

All of the interior photos are of my flat or building and all exterior photos have been taken on daily walks and are maximum 5 minutes from out flat.
The flat itself is a charming apartment in the old hyper-center of Bordeaux (on the narrow street pictured) just next to the river. Third floor of a 4 story, old stone building. No lift. Quiet but near all of the bars and restaurants and shops. 1 bedroom, total surface 60m2. Nothing fancy but clean and enough space to enjoy as a couple even with the dogs. Some scratches on the paint on the walls from dog stretching but a nice, comfortable flat. A lot of light with high ceilings and big windows facing north and south. Other buildings "en face" and the bedroom window looks out on a private courtyard (no access so no noise). Wifi, bathtub, toilette separate, parquet, washing machine, dish washer, fully equipped kitchen with traditional espresso machine, big oven, all you need to cook and bake.Naeighbourhood Saint-Pierre (the best, most beautiful) quartier.

My two weimaraners are well known in the area and very social. They are welcome to accompany you on terraces (see photos for terraces just next to the flat) and especially in our local pub. VERY cuddly and sporty. Need to be taken out 3 times a day for about an hour ro an hour and a half (RAIN OR SHINE). For their long outing they usually do an 8k off-lead walk on the other side of the river with intermittent fetch or can be taken to one of the many woods accessible via public transportation (boat, tram, bus). It takes 30 to 45 minutes to access these woods and we usually go once a week. But this is optional (for those who like exploring in good company). For the others, we are two minutes from a walk on the quais and gardens (pictured) and they can also accompany you on terraces during a walk. During winter months they are full of energy so need a firm hand and a lot of sport. In the summer, sometimes their long walk must be done early as it is too hot after 10h30. And the other walks are in shaded parks or include stops for sprawling out in the heat.

This is not a luxurious home. The walls are covered with beautiful african materials and a few antiques, but I keep it simple and sentimental. Even though it is a nicely laid out 60m2 with a full kitchen, it is the location of the flat that makes it a French dream.
You have a reading chair placed for natural light, a sofa, a bench under the window stools for the high table near the kitchen. The dogs have their own large and comfortable bed but also like to cuddle with you on the sofa.

We luckily have calm neighbours (1st floor and 4th floor) and an Airbnb downstairs, so our flat is peaceful with spurts of noise from the street below, but not much. We are about 1 minute from the river so picnicking, running, wandering is all very easy to access. We are next to the Napoleonic bridge as well so the calmer more natural side of the river is only a 10 minute walk. We usually run or walk its 8K every morning. We are in the historical centre so there is much to explore! We are near all forms of public transportation. The dogs are used to taking it (even the boat...they LOVE the boat) and they are well received. Great city, Bordeaux! Beautiful. Also, we pick up all poo. This is an important aspect of city life. The entire neighbourhood knows these dogs.

We had a great time in Bordeaux. Rachelle made sure the dogs had everything they needed. The two dogs are adorable, cuddly and super nice and they are well behaved.
It has been a real pleasure pet sitting for Rachelle. She has two absolutely lovely dogs who are bursting with personality, well-behaved and truly empathetic. Rachelle was thoughtful and careful to make sure we were well aware of everything we needed to accomplish with regard to the dogs and the apartment. Moreover, she kept in contact with us throughout our time pet sitting and offered her assistance throughout were any issues to arise. The house was comfortable and cozy and located in an incredible part of Bordeaux and we were given contact information for Rachelle's friends in case of an emergency. We had everything we needed. Highly recommended.
