Set on the hillside around 2km from the centre of Montignac in a very peaceful location surrounded by 1,5 hectares of woodland. The house Has been fully renovated since we came here 2 years ago. There’s a new well-equipped dining kitchen and the 40m2 living room has windows to the north, south and west so is bright and sunny. There is a ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom and 2 upstairs. bedrooms and a bathroom. There’s a TV (French channels only), Bose music system and reliable wi-fi. A large, unheated pool is in a lovely private setting.

The location appeals to nature-lovers. It is very quiet and peaceful; you feel quite isolated but in fact there are close but unseen neighbours. You are more likely to see a deer in the garden than people passing by. The town centre is less than 2 km away but down the hill which is very steep so a car is required. It has the advantage of being close to a very busy tourist centre with all amenities while offering total relaxation on returning home.
L’endroit est parfait pour les amoureux de nature. Très calme, on se sent assez isolé mais il y a des voisins proches. On a plus de chance de voir un chevreuil dans le jardin que des gens qui passent. Le centre de Montignac est à 2km mais la colline est raide et du coup une voiture est nécessaire. Nous beneficions d’un centre touristique et animé à proximité tandis que l’on rentre dans un endroit tellement paisible.

It is the in the Vallée de l’Homme, the centre of prehistoric art and history, on the river Vézère. There are numerous good restaurants (24 in all), a cinema, kayaking and other outdoor activities, a good selection of shops (84 to be precise), including a large Intermarche, a local Spar shop, large organic shop, and glorious scenery everywhere. Less than half an hour away is the lovely medieval town of Sarlat.
Airports : Bergerac 1hr15 is the most convenient with Brive-Souillac and Limoges feasible alternatives.

We had a wonderful time taking care of Loulou and the property. Loulou is really sociable and fun to be with. The beautiful house is very well located: just a couple of km from all amenities, but still in the countryside. Lots of things to discover and do, if you can peel yourself away from the pool of course ;-)
Tricia and Derek were very welcoming and made us feel at home at once. They communicated with us before and during the stay, and made sure everything was well set up for our housesit. A great experience!
