We have a very shy, timid indoor cat. You need to make sure he does not go outside his enclosed area by checking that doors are not left open. You need to give him lots of attention and brushing to win his trust. We have around 10 chickens who need to be cared for. They are closed in at night and let out in the morning, and are fed and watered twice a day. If you come in autumn we would ask you to do some leaf raking.

The village is located a few kilometres outside of Navarrenx, where you will find all the amenities of a small French town. To get there you need a car, so we request that applicants do have their own car or a rental vehicle. Our environment is totally non-smoking. It's a walker's paradise round here so bring your hiking shoes! We leave bicycles for guests to use, but be warned, it's hilly. We have lovely neighbours in the friendly village. If the weather is warm you can eat outside in the garden or you can cook inside our fully equipped kitchen. If it's cold you light the log fire and create a cosy ambiance inside.

You can drive to the Pyrenees mountains or to the beach near Biarritz in just over an hour. Nearer to home you can enjoy exploring beautiful Basque villages and rolling countryside, as well as visiting historic towns of the Bearn such as Navarrenx, Sauveterre and Salies. All have weekly markets. Close to the house you have a network of inland rivers, along which you can walk or cycle and picnic.

We thank Bob and Alix for the great experience in their home. Ralfie the cat is friendly with his own character. The chickens delighted us with their eggs. Thanks to clear instructions everything went well.
