The cats need food in the morning and evening and some time for caressing and playing - but nothing more :-) We have a big garden 500m away from our home which need in summer only one thing: Collecting Vegetables :) and some time some water...:-)

Haus

100 year old small house in which we have a maisonette apartment with 2 balconies. Calm as it's a house in the back of the street but at the same time 2 km from city center and 200 m from a big green parc (of more than 5 km length) with small creek (even for swimming with small kids)...our cats are house cats which are not allowed to go out...and therefore they love to have people around them for playing and caressing... We do for more than 12 years homeexchange now (49 exchanges), so we are used to be in other houses and take care about what is needed and have the same in our home. We love the concept of giving and recieving, win-win, without money but with lots of dedication.

Karlsruhe and especially our quartier is easy living with bicycle and public transport, very green with parc around and 10 min by foot from the main station. You can reach even small villages in the black forest around with public transport and Heidelberg castle, Stuttgart car museums, Strasbourg (France) and the blackforest mountains (> 1000m) are reachable within short distance.

These ten days at Gesa's home were a very good experience. First of all, the two cats, Sissi and Masha, are very cute and friendly. They are used to see new people so they were very welcoming and they trusted us quickly. They have different personalities that are complementary : Sissi is extravert and playful whereas Masha is more of an introvert but she also loves being cuddled. The apartment is spacious, very calm and with 2 balconies. It is well furnished. The neighborhood is nice too : calm, with a grocery store, well connected to public transports. We used our bicycles, it was very convenient to use them since there are a lot of bicycle roads in Germany. Gesa was very welcoming, available by messages and she gave us a lot of good advice to discover the beautiful surroundings of Karlsruhe : the lakes to swim, the Black Forest, the Rhin, etc. Thank you again ! Gesa is used to receiving people at her home : her family has done a lot of home exchanges before. There is a guest book with all important information for daily life, it was very useful. She can speak English and French. Finally, the family has a remote garden (10 minutes by walking from the apartment) that is very peaceful and where we had the possibility to take vegetables.
