Our cats are all ex-feral cats rescued in our old home town in France. Daily feeding /emptying of cat loos/cuddling requiered. There garden next to our apartment does not need a lot of maintenance in winter. Nous avons adopté nos chats au cours de notre vie dans les PO. Demandes quotidiennes: leur donner à manger / vider les litières/les carresser. Le jardin derrière l'apartement n'exige pas beaucoup de jardinage en hiver.

The main road with all shops is a five-minute walk away. So is the tram station (“von Gahlen Strasse”) to the city center. The apartment opens to a big flowery garden, a little paradise for us and the cats. Before moving in, we completely renovated the apartment. It consists of a spacious bedroom with an home-office corner, a spacious bath, and a 40-m2 kitchen/living room area with a winter garden. Two glass doors open to our garden with a terrace in front of the kitchen. We prefer a “naturally growing” garden to a meticulously trimmed one. However, it will need regular watering and a bit of loving care by a “green thumb”. The forest is only a five-minute walk away, and so is the tram station. A direct tram takes less than 20 minutes to the heart of the city with its Rhine waterfront, Frank Gehry buildings and beer pubs. It takes a mere 30 mins by bike to go to lake “Unterbacher See” with its two beaches. Duesseldorf with its beautiful waterfront along the river Rhine is considered to be one of the most attractive places to live in Germany. The town is more intimate …

Susanne et Ari nous ont chaleureusement accueilli (avec en prime un très bon dîner cuisiné par Susanne) et ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour agréable et pour que nous nous sentions chez eux comme chez nous. La compagnie de leurs 5 Chats a été formidable et ce fut un vrai plaisir de pendre soin d‘eux : chacun, avec un caractère très différent a su nous étonner, nous distraire, nous faire rire même souvent, nous réconforter les jours de pluie par leur présence et leur ronronnement sur nos genoux ou juste contre nous. Leur accueil à chacun de nos retours nous a procuré beaucoup de joie. La présence de Mango, lovée entre nous la nuit ou de Max à nos pieds était une belle preuve qu’ils nous avaient adoptés en l‘absence de leurs maîtres. De même lorsque Mogli, la farouche, s‘est laissée caresser et brosser avec grand plaisir ou que Meckie, le fugueur, est resté des journées entières avec nous. Minouche, la solitaire, souvent en conflit avec les autres , a su trouver son réconfort auprès de nous Leur présence va nous manquer en rentrant chez nous, c‘est certain ! La maison est très agréable à vivre, le quartier est très calme et pourtant à deux pas de tous les commerces et du tramway direct vers le cœur de ville de Düsseldorf avec toutes les attractions et activités possibles (nous n‘avons pas eu besoin d’utiliser notre voiture). Les promenades à pied aux alentours sont très plaisantes (bois, parcs) et nous ont permis de prendre l‘air avec une bonne marche tous les jours . Nos échanges quotidiens par WhatsApp, était un grand plaisir ! Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ce séjour (malgré des circonstances inattendues) et sommes heureux d’avoir pu ainsi tisser des liens d‘amitié avec Susanne et Ari. Merci sincèrement à eux pour leur confiance.
