The 4 cats need to be fed twice a day at 7-8:00 am and 1,5 hours before sunset. The garden of the Animal Island house and the main house has to watered in the evening from April to November and will need weeding as well as doing the vegetable garden (10 m²) (planting and harvesting). In wintertime some maintenance work like painting and cleaning the wood stove might be necessary. I live in a house nearby and in case I need to travel, the cats that live in my house need to be fed and attended too (6 cats). Please be aware of simple greek rural life: there might be failure in the water system and in the electricity system from time to time and repair will be slow. An yes: no toilet paper in the toilet - you would kill the simple drainage system a create high costs. The people in the village speak no english.

The "Dr. Dolittle" Animal Island Home is situated on top f a hill (300m over sea level), 2,5 km from the sea on the West side of the Peloponnese between Zacharo and Kyparissia. It is in an olive groove surrounded by a great big nothing. Nature, retreat and healing for those who need and want it. It's literally where cat and jakal say good night. The next humans are in the village nearby but they are < 30 left if it is not ferial season. Next shop/supermarket is 25 min by car. No cultural area. The house is a nonsmoker home inhabited by 4 cats. Some strays come by for food and the village dog will visit once in a while. We have poisonous animals there, such a vipers, scorpions, centripeds and spiders.

It is simple rural life style. Tavernas will be open only during season. Supermarket in 25 min driving distance, market is every Saturday in Kyparissia. This is a healing place not an event or fun place. If you love the beauty of nature and solitude, it is a fit. The cats are easy going and used to have pet sitters around. In case I am there, I offer to cook together on Sundays for those who want it. You will need a car if I am away, if I am at home we can share as long as you can drive up small roads in greek mountain area.
