Hi , we need a house and cat sitter from the 4th of August to the 27th of August 2021:
We have two adorable cats and we need a house sitter to take care of them, and you are also expected to keep the house and space you will be hosted in clean and tidy. Your schedule will be variable and you will have plenty of free time to enjoy Rome and the area of the Castelli Romani. Quite easy but conscientuous and responsible work :-).
We prefer people with experience of cats and/or cat sitting. Overall, we predict a daily schedule of 1 hour a day for cat sitting (see point 1) and about 6 hours a week for the housecleaning (see points 2-5). IMPORTANT: You can't leave the house for more than 24 hours. The tasks to do in detail:
1) The cats need feeding twice a day. The cat litter needs cleaning once a day plus complete change about once a week. Change their water bowls (clean water every day). Clean and wash their bowls (with soap) every other day. If they are approachable you can brush their fur.

3) Maintain the common areas of the house - bathroom, kitchen, entrance of the house, stairs- in a high standard of cleaning, daily.
4) You are welcome to use the living room to relax, with TV, netflix, prime, -now TV etc. We will give you more info on your arrival.
5) Pick up mail from the entrance door and keep it until our return, Water plants (there are just a few) on the terrace.
The cats are also very affectionate when they get to know you and like to be petted and to sit on the sofa with us, hopefully with you too :-).
PLEASE REPLY ONLY IF YOU ARE REALLY INTENDING TO COME. We had a last minute cancellation last year that was inconvenient. Of course, once you contact us, your are welcome to ask further questions to decide definitely and to arrange your stay and travel.

Robert and Chiara's restored loft is in the historical centre of Monte Compatri, a town of the picturesque "Castelli Romani" (Alban Hills) to the south of Rome, 30 minutes by train from nearby stations. At 600m there is a fantastic view to the valley below and the Appenine mountains. The east facing terrace gets sun in the morning for outdoor breakfasts. The town has a number of good restaurants in walking distance. There is also a frequent bus service to Line A of Rome metro as well as new line C metro connecting Monte Compatri stop (station reachable by local shuttle bus) to San Giovanni station (centre of Rome).

The small town of Monte Compatri is a peaceful place nearby Rome in the regional Park of Castelli Romani. It is about 15 Km to the outskirts and 35 Km to the centre of Rome. There are small shops as well as two supermarkets in town, post office, bus stop. Railway and metro lines are not far away. The house has a very beautiful view facing east.

If you like hiking, there are many easy hikes nearby: Monte Salomone and Tuscolo, this latter seat of an ancient rival town of Rome, where you can still admire the old Via Sacra and the ancient Roman Amphiteatre. Lakes Castel Gandolfo and Nemi are also not far and perfect for a picnic or day out in nature, as well as the elegant town of Frascati (6 Km away). Other nearby sites includes the town of Palestrina, with temple to Goddess Fortune. Last but not least, if you are undecided on how to spend your free time, Rome, the Eternal City, will offer unlimited options for day trips.

Chiara has a really nice house with a beautiful view, in a quiet and authentic italian town. Not too far from roma. Very pleasant vacations. Three nice kitties.
