The place is very peaceful in all possible way! There’s is a small village shop in 6 km distance , but we usually drive once a week for big shopping to the nearest town of Zarasai located 25 km from our home. It is 20 min drive. There are few supermarkets and weekly market on Fridays. There is a monastery near by where Tiberiade brothers from Belgium accepts every guest with a great joy. Sometimes we voluntarily help brothers in garden, forest or to do other simple jobs. In the house is designed for two families to live . It’s like 2 houses connected with 2 separate entrances. At the moment in the other part of the house young family living with 1,5 yo child.. We live separately but at the same time we care of each other privacy , needs and well being.. We also share one washing machine which is located in our house. While living here we enjoy the nature - walks in the forests, swimming, picking up mushrooms and berries , drinking the water from natural source near by.

There are small towns called Dusetos, Antalieptė, Salakas with its own charms and attractions. In 40 km distance you can reach the second biggest Latvia’s city Daugavpils.
