I have a monk parakeet named Pistachio Kiwi. She's very special to me. I give her fresh food & water daily. She's out of her cage most of the day. I work remote so she gets a lot of attention & is with me all the time. I even take her for drives with me. She loves being outside. Her wings aren't clipped because I like her having the freedom to fly around the house. She follows me everywhere. Around 9-10pm I'll put her in her cage and cover the cage with a blanket, tell her I love her and she goes in her little hammock to go to sleep. I'll clean her cage every week to week in a half. She can be messy, especially when eating. She gets seeds everywhere lol so I do have to vacuum daily. My place is small so it's not a big deal. Because she's out of her cage most of the day, I will have to also clean up her poop droppings. They're little so not a big deal. She loves being scratched around her neck, but only when she wants it. She kind of has a cat personality. Only pet & scratch on her terms. She loves giving kisses and likes to bite my nose, maybe to her, that's my beak. I do give her treats, especially when I need to leave for the day. I like her to have something to do & I leave YouTube on for her with some nice relaxing music. The longest I've ever left her has been around 8-10 hrs and she's always fine when I return, but desperate to get out of her cage for some much needed affection. She can be a little bitie with strangers but seems she only behaves that way if I'm around. She's much better with other people when I not around. Overall she's a great bird & a wonderful companion that I will miss dearly while I'm away.

Very quiet & relaxing. Beautiful pool & jacuzzi that's right outside my door. BBQ area within the complex. 24 hour security. There's several restaurants, bars & small markets walking distance. Can easily walk to the beach. You can see the ocean from the front door. I also have several plants that need regular watering.

There's a lot to do, especially if you have a car. Ensenada is only an hour away. Valle de Guadeloupe (wine country) is about an hour as well. Beats restaurants along the coast with amazing views. Downtown Rosarito is pretty busy on the weekends. Tourists love that. Amazing street food. Super friendly locals.
