I am looking for a sitter mostly to take care of my very gentle, friendly and quiet 8 year old Spanish greyhound (galgo) Luna who suffers from separation anxiety. She cannot stay at home alone even for short absences. Person(s) should be non-smoker(s) and willing to take my dog on regular daily walks on leash and bring her when you go out. Regular updates with photos/videos would be most appreciated. Plant watering would also be appreciated.

I live with my lovely galgo Luna in a semi-detached traditional two bedroom home in a quiet part of the Algarvian town of Vila Real de Santo António, Portugal right on the border with Andalucia, Spain. Home has both a patio and roof terrace. River and marshes, beach and amenities close by. Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA) is a small, charming traditional Algarvian town with old fashioned ‘calçada portuguesa’ tile pedestrian streets, little cafés and restaurants serving typical local fish, seafood and grilled meats. Train close by connects VRSA with the rest of the Algarve and Lisbon.

The house is located in a more country-like environment on the side of town facing Spain. There is a supermarket (Aldi) within walking distance and the main part of town is about a 15-minute walk away. There are gardens, chickens and horses in the area. There are also lots of walking paths nearby and the beach is not very far. With a car you can cross the bridge over into Spain in 10 minutes and have a tapas lunch in the border town of Ayamonte!

There are a number of historical places of interest to visit such as the castle of Castro Marim, the old fishing village of Cacela Velha, the town of Tavira. Great hiking and walking paths and proximity to river and ocean beaches.

Un super séjour chez Carly et Luna ! Carly m’a très bien accueilli et fait sentir comme chez moi. Luna est très attachante, très calme, aucun problème pour la promener (et rester à côté d’elle quand elle fait ses siestes !). Une petite maison très bien équipée et pas très loin de la mer pour les balades avec Luna. Je reviendrai si je peux ! Merci encore Carly et Luna.
