The jobs whilst house sitting from October to April would be to feed the cats and dog and maintain what needs to be maintained on the property (if anything comes up.
The kittens and mutt are all strays and receive a combination of cooked corn meal, eggs and kitchen scraps.We also purchase a sac of prepared food which they receive twice a day with water.
When there are house guests we request that you clean and change the linen once a week.
There are a few house plants that should be watered once a week. Until late November the grass should be cut every 2 weeks or so. We have an electric lawn mower.

After March we are always looking for longer term volunteers to replace the current long term volunteer caretaker, to give them a much needed break from the charity house. We cannot describe it as a house-sitting position, as it will not be a role that many will consider as being consistent with the role of a house-sitter. The reason for this is that on occasions you will need to share the space with others, and spend a little effort to accommodate them and share facilities.

The project involves building a dual purpose care home and community centre for the needy elderly of the local town. The elderly get very small pensions here, and life is hard and cold during the winter for the elderly who do not have any family.
Until the house is suitable for elderly occupants the house is mostly an empty house, and entirely empty during the winter months when we advertise it for house-sitting. On occasion a few rooms might be rented out to raise funds for the project.

Altogether the property consists of the new house, an 6000sqm orchard, two older buildings, and a meadow
There is wifi. A washing machine. Plenty of solar heated hot water. Gas stove and oven. Parking. Daily buses to Alexandria. The village has 4 general stores and a construction outlet. There is a post office, farmacie and doctors clinic.
We have an electric piano in the house, a classical guitar and some speakers you can plug a sound source into. We also have a reasonably large TV and an internet connection.

There are four food shops in the town and chain food store in Piatra which stocks a few things that the town stores don't stock. Peanut butter and honey to name a couple. On Sunday there is a farmers market in the next town where you can get a greater variety of vegetables and other things than you can get in the local shops. For any other needs you can go to Alexandria which are about a 30 minute drive away.
The house is very big and there are a variety of places you can choose to accommodate yourself in different ways.
There is a large kitchen for cooking and baking. There are a number of bathrooms.
You would have a room to yourself with a desk for those who do online work. There is a direct landline as well as wifi network
