We have two sweet 1 y.o. cats. One is a bit shy with new people, and can get stressed with loud noises though she doesn't need anything special, just a calm person to give her some time to warm up. I would like there to be someone there with them each night to give them their wet food, refresh their water, give them loves and stay the night, though they don't need much of anything during the day. In the morning, we give them their dry food. The litter box is normally cleaned 1 - 2x a day (morning/evening). We have a small amount of plants that need to be watered in the backyard. We also have a garden plot in a community garden next to the nearest shopping center that may need watering every few days if there is no rain.

We live in a rådhus in a neighborhood outside the city center. There are hiking trails and nature nearby and the neighborhood is quiet. We have a backyard patio with sunshade where it is nice to relax and have coffee and our house has all the usual amenities. For being in a very peaceful neighborhood, it is a 15 minute trip into the town center, by bus or car. There is a cafe in the woods, only open on weekends in the summer, that is a 30 minute hike through the woods. A large grocery store is 5 - 10 minutes away. We have lots of books and boardgames. There is a lot to see and do within 1 hour of Uppsala: Stockholm, rock carvings, castles, viking burial mounds, lots of Linneus places and hikes to name a few.

Even though we live in a small neighborhood, it is very quiet in the home. Outside, you mostly hear children playing or it is also quiet. The nearest grocery is about 10 minutes and is very well stocked. The city center is about 15 minutes away. The bus line is a bit restricted in times in the summer but there is a bus stop that will take you very near to the house or a bus that is more frequent but it is a walk on the side of a road for about 1 km. There is also a golf course and ice cream stand nearby (< 5 min by car).

If you like history, there are many things in Uppsala as it has been populated and has had a university for a long time. There are rock carvings you can visit about 30 minutes from here, there are lots of runestones to try and find and other archeological points of interest, as well as Gammla Uppsala. Stockholm is a 30 minute train ride away from the city center. There is a small theme park 30-60 minutes north of Uppsala, and the is a coast that is about an hour away. It is a rocky coast, but it is beautiful and fun to explore. There are a few movie theaters in Uppsala that are very comfortable. There is also various arts and theater events that continuously happen here and in Stockholm. There are lots of hikes and nature, including Linneus and his house and gardens and several Linneus hikes. There is also a nearby nature reserve (10 min) that is nice to explore. Jennifer and Jason were great hosts. There was excellent communication between us regarding their 2 cats, their home and gardens. They provided us with information about many cultural and recreational activities in the area including maps and suggestions for restaurants. They kept in touch with us while they were away to make sure that we had not encountered any problems. The cats, Speedy and Sweety were very easy to care for. We enjoyed our stay in their beautiful home.

La maison de Jennifer est accueillante, spacieuse et cosy dans un environnement agréable, près de la forêt. La belle ville d'Uppsala, riche d'histoire et de culture est facilement accessible en bus en quelques minutes. Les deux chats ( blancs comme la neige Suédoise ! ) sont adorables et très câlins. J ai passé un très beau séjour pendant cette période des fêtes, Un grand merci à Jennifer et sa famille, je recommande ...mais je reviendrai aussi avec plaisir ! Tack så mycket Jenn !

C'était un plaisir de garder ces deux chats, calmes et faciles à vivre. Jennifer m'a donné beaucoup d'informations pour préparer mon séjour et a régulièrement répondu à mes messages. La communication est facile avec elle et elle m'a fait la gentillesse de venir me chercher à la gare alors qu'elle était occupée. Sa maison se situe dans la jolie campagne suédoise d'où il n'est pas si compliqué de se rendre à Uppsala et Stockholm pour de chouettes visites. Bien sûr avoir une voiture est un plus si vous voulez en voir plus et profiter de ce pays paisible et respectueux de la nature. Une jolie découverte malgré la météo très pluvieuse.
