Please fill her water fountain to the fill line when it's getting low and make sure her food hopper is full and that it is coming out. The hopper is set to release food three times a day. Because of this, you don’t have to be home all day, even once a day is ok. Also we expect you to clean her litter box every 3-4 days or so. After 3 it gets a little full. It shouldn’t be too bad as she is a very dainty lady. We have plants that could use water maybe once or twice while we're. Some need more water, some barely need any. I'm no botanist so I just kind of wing it. Bonus points if you can help me get the sad ones to look better! All in all, the plants are nothing crazy and I'll leave instructions on them. Last task is just to get the mail every other day or every couple of days.
We leave very early on the morning of the 14th so we will need to show you around the day before. If you would like, you are welcome to stay in the guest room and then move into the master bedroom once we leave. We will change the bedsheets for you! I will return on the 29th midday. If you need to stay the night before heading out, that is certainly negotiable.

First floor apartment in a beautiful quiet area right outside Bern, Switzerland. It’s very close to the bus and the river and the Gurten mountain. In the summer you can swim in the river and hike the Gurten. The city is close by and full of great shops and food and concerts during the summertime. It’s a quick bus ride to the Bern Banhof which can take you anywhere in Switzerland by train. And since we have a cat, it’s no problem for you to leave her all day. She has an automatic food dispenser and a water fountain.

We are both opera singers. So our house is fitted with a piano to practice. We are happy to set you up with that if you like to play. We love to relax on our glorious big couch and play video games on our projector. The entire wall is like a giant movie theater. In our living room we also have a nice round table with four chairs to eat meals. We also have an antique bar in the living room with all glasses and bar implements needed. Our guest room is equipped with a trundle bed and a tv where you can play video games and watch Netflix. We have a decent library and some games as well. The terrace is lovely to have breakfast or a smoke if you're into that. It comes with an awning that you can roll in and out. The terrace overlooks our nice garden and grill area that we share with out neighbors. Our kitchen is equipped with a brand new oven and electric stovetop range and the dishwasher is only a couple years old. we have a microwave, toaster, and tea kettle; all brand new appliances. The house is easy to live in and look after. The neighbors are quiet, but you'll hear them sometimes, mainly in the stairwell. Next door there is a day care and those kids will play outside during the weekday in the summer. You can hear trucks and mopeds on the road occasionally but its a quiet neighborhood. In the summer months, we grill and drink in the backyard with our neighbors. They are very friendly. The grocery store is just a block or so down the street and it is open most hours. Switzerland is clean and very safe. People are very friendly and helpful. Bern has a very laidback attitude and atmosphere. No one is in a hurry and everyone is very friendly. Summertime is usually a very nice time to be outdoors and by the river. Swimming in the river in summer is a cultural birthright. Everyone brings their waterbag and jumps in when it gets too hot.

There is a place to grill with wood provided (we usually bring out own tongs, briquettes etc.) You can even toboggan or mountain bike down the trails near the restaurant. There is also a train that takes you up the front side of the hill if hiking isn't your thing. From up …

Since it’s Switzerland, we recommend you go to the mountains. With a quick train ride you are able to hike and enjoy the Swiss alps. Schynigge Platte, First, and Grindelwald are spectacular in summer. As is Oeschinensee and Kandersteg. I can recommend many more places to hike and visit. Switzerland is not a large country and you can get pretty much anywhere by train. In Bern there is so much to do. Restaurants, museums, history tours. You can check out where Einstein lived when he developed his theory of relativity. You can also check out the famous clock tower called the Zytglogge. Or you can just wander the shops and cafes on the cobblestone streets and then pop down to swim in the Aare if you get too hot. There is even a place to get into the Aare near our apartment, and you can swim all the way into Bern. It's about 20 minutes on the river and it's a lot of fun. Again, there's a lot to do, you just let me know what you're interested in and we are happy to suggest all the best activities and destinations that suit your needs and interests.
