We have a 3 y/o Siamese cat named Cleo but we always call her Kitty. We need a pet sitter to scoop her two litterboxes once a day and refill her automatic feeder/water bowl every other day. Kitty is very sweet & curious, a little shy at first, but then she warms up quickly and you'll likely find her in the bed with you at night. She's extremely sweet - don't let the her eyebrow print fool you. She never bites or scratches but like many cats, she doesn't like to be picked up. She is a permanent indoor cat but she loves supervised time on our balcony to partake in her favorite sport: bug hunting (ok if she's up on the ledge, just keep an eye on her). When away from the apartment, please keep doors shut. She's a little chunky so feel free to run around the apartment with a string and she'll fall in love with you. She doesn't often eat any of our plants but keep an eye on that just in case. If you could give a bit of water to the house/balcony plants while we're away, that would be wonderful. We haven't been …

We haven't been away for this long before so we just ask that if any behaviors pop up from missing her parents, you let us know and we can direct you on how to deal. We keep the couch covered with blankets while away in the case she has accident. If that were to happen, we just ask you pop the blankets in the washing machine as quickly as you can with some provided quarters + an enzyme spray. This happened when we first got her but after a major tooth extraction surgery, it hasn't happened since (even over 3-day weekend trips). We don't expect it to occur now, but we want to prepare you just in case.

There's a little flex with these dates as they're the full length of our trip. We could do 8/4-8/10 if that would be better and have a friend drop in for the rest.

We have a large connected TV in the living room with most streaming services attached - Netflix, Prime, Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, YouTubeTV, HBO Max, - and it's hooked up to a great Soundbar that you can also use to play music (just be mindful of the downstairs neighbor). There's another smaller connected TV in the bedroom with all the same services. We also have a Schwinn exercise bike + a couple of heavy weights, yoga mats, ab rollers for fitness. The balcony is huge - it has 3 Adirondack chairs for sunbathing and globe lights for aesthetic evening hangs. It's S-W facing so you can watch a gorgeous CA sunset in the evenings and see the planes taking off from LAX. Another thing we love about the Mediterranean climate of Southern California - hardly any bugs and temperate evenings.

Our apartment is nested in an old-school Los Angeles beach community called Playa del Rey. Many of the residents have lived here their whole lives, and you can certainly feel that while walking the streets. We are very close to the airport, so it can be noisy outside but all the windows in the apartment are double-paned as a result, The apartment building was built in the 70s but the interior has seen a few renovations and offers vinyl-plank wood floors and quartz counter-tops. The bathroom has a tubbed shower and is a tad older but well-maintained. The vibes overall are sunny, indoor-outdoor California living. Perfect for 1-2 people or a couple with a young child.

I've traveled quite a bit and what I'll say is US cities are set up a bit differently from the rest of the world. I would not recommend anyone stay in or near the downtown area here but certain parts are definitely worth a visit. I generally feel that Los Angeles' most wonderful characteristics are it's huge, sandy beaches, diverse and delicious food offerings, easy access to nearby hikes, art-deco Downtown LA architecture, and (depending on the area), it's nightlife. if you're going to go out, prepare to start (9-10p) and end (1-2a) early; you'll need to Uber or Lyft. I would recommend West Hollywood for a classic LA experience, just keep your belongs close. Love the drag shows during the day and the gay clubs for the evening. You may or may not know that LA is not public-transportation friendly but the West Side does have a few good bus routes. If renting a car, prepare to sit in a little traffic wherever you go. Download the Bird app to rent electric scooters - one of my favorite things to do with visitors is bird down The Strand (a concrete path that runs through every beach alongside the coast). …

Download the Bird app to rent electric scooters - one of my favorite things to do with visitors is bird down The Strand (a concrete path that runs through every beach alongside the coast). Be sure to pass by Venice beach for the ultimate people-watching experience. Attractions that are really worth visiting are: the Griffith Observatory and the Getty for spectacular views. Hike to the Hollywood sign (but get there SUPER early if you need to find parking). Any sort of Malibu hike (again, start early). Attractions that are more touristy but still fun: Grand Central Market in downtown LA, the Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Walk of Fame + the wax museums (think of these as the sort of tourist attraction that embodies the LA vibe: star-studded, a little dirty, an ode to the golden era of Hollywood that has now ended). I love a good double-decker bus tour but generally the stars' homes included on the Celeb tour have mega 20-ft walls that you can't see past. If you have a car and like to look at expensive homes, drive through the Hancock Park neighborhood - those homes ($$$) aren't walled fortresses. For the best eats, I prefer the East Side, though the West Side does have some really great spots. East side: K-Town for Korean BBQ, Silverlake/Echo Park for delicious hipster eats or authentic taco trucks (although you can't go wrong with most taco trucks - just have cash handy). Downtown has a handful of spots. Head to Perch or the Eastern Columbia building for rooftop bars. Westside: best for fresh seafood. In my neighborhood I have a favorite Indian, Thai, and Mexican spot that I'll leave you. Food-delivery apps abound here. If you have kids - the beach for sure. I'd also recommend the Miracle Mile area for some really fun museums like the La Brea Tar Pits, LACMA, and Automotive Museum. Outside of this area but worth mentioning again, the Griffith Observatory, I love it up there. You're in LA, so check out what shows are in town. Whether its music or comedy or anything else. Can't go wrong with most venues, but the Hollywood Bowl is chef's kiss. Even if you land at a comedy show with unknown talent, it'll be pretty good.
