This is a non-smoking home. This means there is no smoking allowed in the house at all. If smokers agree to smoke only outside, with the door closed, they will be considered. the patio is covered so even in rain, you can smoke wothout getting wet. I do not use a cleaning service, so basic housekeeping is required. I'm not OCD about cleaning, but keep a clean house. All told, it takes less than an hour a week to keep the house sparkling and not smelling of feline. ;)
The Cat: Boris is a 3 yr old local Arabian Mau (Bahrain mutt rescue cat). I've had him since March 2019 and since that time, he's learned to trust humans and broken his feral habits, well all except one - he still thinks he's going to starve to death, so he'll flip the lid on the rubbish bin and dig for leftover food. As a result, I don't leave leftover food accessible
In rubbish bags when I’m out of the house. He just needs to be fed twice a day and have fresh water (tap is fine for him). His litter box is outside master bathroom and there’s one downstairs in the cellar …

In rubbish bags when I’m out of the house. He just needs to be fed twice a day and have fresh water (tap is fine for him). His litter box is outside master bathroom and there’s one downstairs in the cellar near the tv room. I scoop the poop daily and change the box out at least once a week. He's faithful to use the box. He is NEVER allowed on the tables or countertops.
If you don't mind the heat in the summer, when home, crack the living room glass door for air and open the master bedroom balcony door wide enough for him to come in&out as he loves to lounge on the balcony and bird watch. If you don't like the heat, don't worry about it, he’ll miss it and talk about it, but eventually get over it…he can bird watch through the glass and the loving room windows. Just don't close the doors with him on the balcony; it terrifies him.
He does love to play and can be a bit rough (thinks he's a dragon, remember?). He loves to fly by and smack you on the back of the legs as you're walking to initiate play time, loves to play chase both ways, and hide & pounce from around the corner...to note, he won't back down from a play fight. If his ears go back during play and his eyes turn black, he's channeling his inner dragon, so I stop the play, as not to encourage rough behavior. He is also a cuddler and will snuggle on your lap as long as you'll let him. So all in all, of all the cats I've had in my life, he's really low maintenance and fun to have around. I think he's just glad to be off the streets.
Oh, and he loves to talk. So if you've been gone all day, he'll catch you up on all his activities when you get home - until you feed him ;)
