I’m a writer and designer, and have been inspired by travelling while working online for a few years now, since I left the corporate publishing world many moons ago. I am British/South African and enjoy visiting places for a stretch of time, looking after homes and pet companions along the way. I've always thought that this was a practical and fair exchange for both sides. I have met so many wonderful and interesting people, and had the company of lovely animals. It has expanded my world so much, I often recommend it to others.

I love to take care of someone’s sanctuary and undertake my duties as a property guardian and/or pet companion with great care and respect.

I am communicative and conscientious, and you will have peace of mind. I bring good energy and love to keep a home alive and safe. I am peaceful, caring, responsible and a non-smoker.

I’m love local foodie markets, art, culture, historical sites, walking, reading (lots!), swimming, learning new things, cycling, yoga, digital media design projects, nature and birds, star-watching and of course, travel and experiencing different places. I also have interests in natural healing and health/nutrition.

I have a lot of empathy for animals and would never want to see any of them in distress. I do everything I can to make sure their schedules are not disrupted, that they are happy and content, and let them know that their owners are coming back soon.

I'm very handy at making sure plants have enough water and following your instructions to do with this. The daily watering gives me great pleasure.

Lara came to us at short notice when we had been let down by the previous three sitters, so we were immensely grateful to her. I cannot say enough good things about Lara, she was exactly what Scout needed while we were away. She is a very calm, confident, reliable woman and the cat loved her within days. Lara was such sport to calm my worries with daily photo updates. Just before we left the cat decided to get sick and required two different medications a day while we were gone.
