Hello,

We are Barbara and Jim Bailie. When Jim retired from Boeing in 2016, we started housesitting part-time. Now we housesit and travel on our own around the world full-time and love it. The experiences we've had and the people we've met have been life-changing for us. Now we have many repeat housesit families and plenty of 5-star reviews but we are always looking for new experiences, places, and pets to love.

We make a great team for our housesits. Both of us are conscientious, reliable, and good at problem-solving. We like to go beyond expectations with both homeowners and their pets. In addition, we like being clean and organized so you might come home to find it cleaner than when you left. Both of us have backgrounds in construction and have owned many properties so we are able to fix and improve minor issues if they arise.

Your pets will also get our full attention. Over the years, we've sat for all sorts of critters - cats, dogs, chickens, cows, rabbits, a snake, and a parrot and feel comfortable giving shots and medications if needed. Jim used to train his border collies for agility trials and Barbara had cats as well as being a foster mom for kittens. After years of having pets ourselves, our housesit pets have become our temporary best buddies. Whether they like long, difficult hikes or warm, fuzzy cuddles, your animals are sure to feel loved, safe, and cared for.

We were totally relaxed knowing that they would look after our dog and house, and be in touch should they need to. They were very thorough and watched me go over everything and even referred back to their welcome packet to make sure everything was covered. The house was immaculate, sheets & towels washed - even did yard work when a wind storm blew down branches! She met with my friend, Jeff and his dog for daily walks on the beach. They even offered rides to and from airport! Plus when I got home she had made me a lovely apple cranberry cake. Anyone who gets this couple will be very fortunate!"

"We had the pleasure of having Jim Bailie stay in our house during the 2019 holidays, for nearly three weeks. He took care of our dog, Cappy so well that Cappy was a little depressed when Jim wasn’t there any longer. I know Cappy got more frequent and longer walks from Jim than he does from us. The house was immaculate, the bed made up and towels clean. Jim had very thorough and detailed questions about the house and Cappy before we left, and I knew he would be capable of handling anything that came his way. He communicated with us very efficiently and thoughtfully. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to have him back, and his wife, Barbara, if she is available. They are an experienced and self-sufficient house and pet-sitting team. There is a reason they get so many repeat housesits! "
