We're an English couple in our 50s, taking time out from a hectic lifestyle in the UK to explore Europe in our campervan. So far this has mainly been via Workaway.com - for example we have enjoyed helping out with: a team of Alpine huskies, a Portuguese farmhouse restoration project, a Spanish herb farm and a French eco-campsite. We both benefit from interspersing our work exchanges with periods of house sitting, which provides an opportunity to get to know an area, whilst having some more reflective time, and with a certain amount of responsibility to help give us a sense of purpose. House sits also provide us with a place to stay when we return to the UK to visit family and friends, and carry out maintenance on our own house in Sussex which is rented out.

As homeowners with tenants, we know how important it is to be able to trust someone responsible to care for your house and garden. We can offer you the peace of mind that your home and pets will be safe, secure and cared for as we do our own.

Our Workaway expereinces have involved being guests in people's homes and helping to look after their houses, gardens, land and animals. House-sitting examples include: in the south of France we have looked after 2 large mountain dogs, a cat, a tortoise and chickens; we have looked after a ski chalet in the Alps and the owners’ cat; welcoming and looking after Airbnb guests and doing DIY at both these places. Our genuine love of animals stems from growing up with a wide variety of pets including cats, dogs, budgies, fish, tortoises, hamsters and gerbils. And as adults we have both owned dogs and cats. As part of Julie's eco-wellbeing project we have also enjoyed working with a variety of farm animals.
