We are a retired couple in our 60s who in mid-August 2019 will be completed a two-year term as Co-directors of the World Friendship Center in Hiroshima. This is a small guesthouse and peace education center in Hiroshima, Japan - http://wfchiroshima.com/english/.
After leaving Japan in August 2019, we traveled as nomads across Siberia by railway to Europe. We completed our first Nomador housesit in October 2019 in a small village outside of Dijon, France. Subsequent housesit plans were disrupted by the shutdown because of Covid in March 2020. In July 2020 we returned to our home in the U.S.A. and are now planning our first trip abroad since the onset of Covid. We both have been fully vaccinated since February, 2021.
Before retirement I was a philosophy professor at Eastern Illinois University. My wife, Barbara, was a special education teacher in a public school. We have had a rich and varied life together which included farming 450 acres in central Illinois and restoring 4 historic homes. We are active and fit and want to spend our time living and traveling abroad. We have a wide range of skills learned from our years of farming and carpentry. We have two adult children. In general, we are interested in medium to long-term home sitting opportunities ( 2 weeks to 6 months). We can take good care of your home.
We plan to be in Europe for 4 weeks beginning in late October, 2021 and are interested in house-sitting opportunities, especially in the region of Paris which is where our daughter is living.

Dannie et Barbara se sont bien occupés de la maison et des animaux. Ils ont profité des alentours et ont fait de nombreuses balades! Très gentils et très respectueux, je recommande !

Nous avons été très heureux de faire la connaissance de Barbara et Danny. Ces sympathiques "globe-trotters" ont su parfaitement prendre soin de tous nos animaux et de la maison. Le barrage de la langue a sûrement limité les échanges, mais nous avons su, malgré tout, créer une ambiance chaleureuse. Ne pas hésiter à confier sa maison à ce couple fort amical et enrichissant.
