Hi. My name is Bob. I have moved to France under the Brexit agreement. I am exploring different parts of France and searching for a rural community to live and grow my own food, follow permaculture principles and live quietly in nature. And hopefully write poetry and live frugally with a light footprint on the planet.

Passionate about animals, nature, wild places, cycling, hiking and growing organic foods. I have mostly taken care of cats and chickens, but love dogs too. Cats seem to like me and most are at ease, enjoying my presence. I grew up with chickens and as a teenager, have walked Great Danes for pocket money!

I have recently taken care of JPs house outside Rennes, France, for about 2 weeks (looking after Dacia the cat who really is not a grumpy cat, although she loves digging her claws into you whilst seeking affection and purring). I have previously completed house and pet sits in Lyon over Christmas, 3 parrots in Nice for five weeks, my last sit for "Captain" a Shibu Innu in Cotignac, Provence, 10 days in Feb,22; Paris, France, Ostuni, Puglia, Italy; Dacia the grumpy cat of Rennes!

I love plants and have grown a lot of food, I can take care of all your plants and gardens. I am mostly vegetarian and eat organic foods and can accept strictly vegetarian stays at your house. I do not smoke.

I am a part time artist/engineer and have lived the last 20 years in Vancouver, Canada ( I left in 2019).

I am a practical person: recycled and repaired many things, good at problem solving, self-reliant and reliable. I design and build furniture and lamps using waste materials and do minor electrical / plumbing repairs. I have spent 12 years in my own heritage house in Vancouver so understand very much the requirements of home owners and their pets. With pleasure I will keep owners informed with regular updates and pictures of their pets and taking care of their home, ensuring it's secure and clean. I will be happy to look after your home as I would expect others would of mine.

After taking care of your pets needs I will be:
a) continuing online university courses b) doing research on the Internet c) reading or drawing, hiking or cycling/exploring nearby.
