About this sitter
Hi, I'm Karin a German-American looking for friendly, nice people in different locations who will let me take good care of their pets and homes while they are away.
We own rental properties and I also used to sublet my apartment in New York City, so I know both sides of the coin.
Why they want to house sit
As a digital nomad, I like to combine working and living in different places. My work hours are flexible so I can accommodate your pet(s) needs. But the best part is that I really like animals and enjoy meeting and caring for them.
Their experience
Since joining Nomador and another site in late 2023 I have completed several successful pet and housesits and have been asked back for further dates by all of my hosts. I currently have assignments until the end of September, with some availability in between.

Having lived in the U.S. and Germany, I have extensive experience in:
Pet sitting: I’ve cared for young and older, dogs (large and small), cats (friendly and shy), chickens & roosters (best eggs I’ve ever eaten!), horses, rabbits, birds, fish and geckos. I'm also familiar with administering medications and feeding special diets.
House Sitting: Apartments, penthouses, small farms and single-family homes, including a historic landmark, a converted barn and a wood burning stove providing warm water and heat to the house.
Locations: USA - New York City, Washington D.C., Arizona, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey; Germany - Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Heidelberg, Countryside near Saarbruecken.

What can they bring to the assignment
I genuinely like animals and always bond with them, so yours will be well cared for. I am honest, responsible, quiet and neat and will do the 'usual house chores' such as watering plants, airing the apartment (the classic German lüften), monitoring your mailbox and anything else specific to your home. If you'd like I can also look over your Nomador posting from a native English speaker's point of view.
Because I work remotely, I'm very flexible with dates and available for short and long term assignments when reliable, fast internet is provided.

Karin is one of the best house sitters you could wish for. She is very reliable, warm and clean. Her love for animals should be emphasized. She cares lovingly and gives regular updates - she looks after the animals above and beyond what is required. We also found a wonderfully clean home when we returned. Thank you Karin! :)

Karin has been a godsent! She took care of my 2 cats with unwavering dedication and gave me the opportunity to travel for 2 weeks, knowing they will be meticulously taken care of and lovingly cared for. My older cat has some health issues and requires a bit more care and a watchful eye during the day, Karin was absolutely dedicated to making sure he had everything he needed. And besides developing a very personal relationship with the 2, made sure I was informed daily. I was greeted with a sweet gift when I got home, 2 very happy and absolutely relaxed cats and a tidy apartment, and would wholeheartedly recommend Karin as a sitter for your house and pets!
