University lecturer
Hi there,
I am a university lecturer (education, media studies) and enjoy learning of all kinds. I also have a background in language teaching. My husband is a builder/carpenter, with over 30 years experience. He has a broad spectrum of skills, including home renovation. We also have experience in the hospitality field, as some years ago (20) we owned and managed a hotel and dive resort in Roatan, Honduras in the Western Carribean.
We love animals and have previously had a dog and a cat, whom we still miss. We have also looked after animals for friends and family for extended periods. Last year we spent around 5 months housesitting for people in various parts of France and Spain, which we enjoyed very much. We looked after their dogs, cats and large gardens. We both love the outdoors, and taking dogs for walks (and cats too if they like walking) as well as spending time with them at home. We can also do a bit of home maintenance, if needed, as my husband is a carpenter/builder.
I speak Spanish fluently and can speak some Italian and a very tiny bit of French. I am keen to learn other languages and think housesitting would provide opportunities for plenty of practice.
We can provide references from people we have sat for via mindmyhouse and Trustedhousesitters in addition to the endorsements on nomador. We currently own and rent out two properties in Australia, so we understand how important it is to have people you trust in your home. We are both mature and responsible professionals and we will take every care with your home and animals.

Having Linda and Conor care for our home and animals was an incredible experience. They are such a friendly and fascinating couple. We were fast friends, right off the bat! They are so well travelled and full of such a variety of skills to take care of animals and home with ease. Truly, they left our house in a more magnificent state than when they arrived! They are such great animal lovers, and this was evident right away. Our dogs and cat loved them dearly (and I am sure still miss them)...and I am certain our chickens and sheep appreciated their kind ministrations too! They were so well equipped to look after our home and animals- to say nothing of their love of gardening! Linda and Conor made great connections within the community, and also took the time to explore our beautiful region. Most of all, they cared greatly for our animals and our home. I could not recommend this fabulous couple enough. If you feel a hesitation having strangers in your home- believe me, Linda and Conor will make you feel at ease, and your animals and home could not possibly be in better hands!

Linda and Conner are a very nice couple and great company. They are very easy going, picked up instructions quickly and took good care of the animals. The dogs have been spoiled with plenty of walks, plays and guddles. They left the house tidy and cooked us dinner when we got back home end afternoon. We would definitly recommend Linda and Conner to look after your house and animals.

Lewis a aimé le séjour, il était en pleine forme lorsque je suis rentrée ;-) maison parfaite, ils m'ont même préparé un petit repas pour fêter mon retour!! Je vous recommande Linda et Connors Ils ont plein de choses à nous raconter sur leurs voyages... Lewis liked the stay, he was in great shape when I came home ;-) Clochette aussi Perfect house, they even prepared me a small meal to celebrate my return !!
