We are a friendly non-smoking couple living in South West London and enjoy looking after pets
Bea is from London and David is from South Africa (Durban).
We enjoy travelling especially to Belgium, Holland, Spain, South Africa and the USA. We also enjoy discovering different parts of the UK and Ireland.
As we both work from home the majority of the time we have a lot of flexibility with regards to location.
Why we want to house sit:
We would like to house sit as we enjoy discovering local communities and want to avoid hotels and busy resorts with lots of tourists. We also miss having pets and look forward to discovering new parts of the world whilst also connecting with animals. We are thinking about relocating. So housesitting allows us the comfort of a home and the company of pets, while will decide if we like an area enough to relocate.
Our experience
As homeowners, we are used to caring for a property and dealing with any issues that may arise. We had a bull terrier for 6 years and have fostered dogs for various animal charities so have lots of experience in looking after pets. Currently, we have fish in a pond in the garden.
Prior to moving to the UK David lived in South Africa. In Durban his brother owned a pet shop and David would spend his afternoons working there after school. David then worked part time at a veterinary clinic while studying at university so he has encountered and looked after almost every size and shape of dog, cat, bird and fish.
On a part time basis, Bea teaches school children to cycle and recently had a police check carried out for this work.
We have looked after many homes and pets over the years both before and since joining Trusted Housesitters and have had great experiences so far.

All the housesits included plant watering and garden maintenance and other basic maintenance duties and we keep the houses spotless and the pets happy.

I highly recommend David & Bea to look after your house and pets. Not only was our house in perfect condition upon arrival back home, but it was clear by the relaxed state of our cats (one who is very shy and nervous) that they had been well looked after by this lovely couple. On the logistical side, David was very quick to respond and communication was easy and clear. He sent us photos and updates every couple of days while we were away. We left on vacation feeling relaxed and happy knowing that everything was in great hands, which is a huge relief that allowed us to really enjoy our vacation. Happy to have them back any time!
