We are both 68 years old. I worked in social work education and prior to that in family support. Chris has worked in financial services for many years. we are both now retired, and have a camper van we love to go exploring as long as we have someone to care for our gorgeous ginger cat Alfie. Our hobbies at home are : me- exercise classes, meeting friends, walking, reading, T.V and cinema and travel. Chris does the gardening and likes to swim 2 or 3 times a week. We both like days out by the sea, picnicking and meals out.
Between us we have 6 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
I have had cats all my life, in fact "cat" was my first word according to my mother. We also had a rather lively springer spaniel when I was a child. Chris and I had a dog called George who died in 2016, he was a rather lovely but typically greedy King Charles. When I first met Chris I had 3 cats, but now we only have Alfie. Since joining Nomador we had 5 successful house sits (when people stayed in our house), and we have also taken the role as house sitters ourselves in 4 different houses in Spain and Portugal. 3 of the sits were obtained through Trusted House sitters site. So we have seen house sitting from both sides (pet owner and pet sitter) I am most definitely a cat person, but since growing to know George I've developed my love for dogs too.
I have looked after cats for two of my friends, and stayed in their houses whilst they have been on holiday. They would both be happy to provide references on my ability to care for their pets and homes.
We require our sitters to arrive the day before we leave in order to provide explanations etc. We also need sitters to remain in the house until we return from our holiday, and they are welcome to stay an extra night if that is convenient for them. We feel it is very important to develop a relationship with our sitters.

Mary's house is extremely comfortable: anything you need + a wonderful garden + a beautiful winter garden to enjoy a lot of light and zen. The house is located only a few minutes away from the University campus: plenty of nature for your walks. Alfie (the cat) is very easy to live with: spends his time napping under the sun in the winter garden, purring near you on the couch, or sitting on the chair next to you when you work at the kitchen table. They are wonderful guests: welcoming, very well prepared (full guide and tour of the house) and helpful (grocery shopping, bus lines, etc), they have amazing cultural recommandations for you to enjoy the beauty of Exeter. Exeter is a come but lively city that I strongly recommend you take the time to visit: so much to see and discover.

Many thanks to Mary and Chris who really took care of the cats, even hepsie became a little bit less wild and shy ! They regularly gave me news and pics of the cats definitely showing how cats were happy with them! They apparently enjoyed in addition to the cats, my flat and the city. And they were super flexible when I had to change my date of return, many thanks again and again for all your kindness, I truly hope you will come back!

Mary & Chris are a lovely couple, very trustworthy and houseproud. Mary adores cats! They stayed in my house for a week, looking after my cat for 2 days, while I was moving home. They left the house in an immaculate condition, saving me the job of the "big clean up"! I would thoroughly recommend them.

Lovely stay at Mary and Chris home. I'm have been warmly welcome by Mary and Chris who came to the bus station to get me, Mary has cooked a very nice dinner. The house is very nice in the country, not far from town only half an hour by foot, and you can get back by bus. The town is very interresting and lovely. A lot of history and architecture. And the best is Alfie the cat. A big fur full of Iove, affection and kindness. I never seen a cat so affectionnate. And all my regards to Margareth who had the kindness to take me to Kellington.
