Anna

We are a happy, very reliable and orderly Swedish-Swiss couple with a love of travelling and being active and adventurous together. Thanks to our freelance jobs we have been able to bring our computers and spend long periods in foreign countries. However, now we are thinking of buying a house in a Mediterranean country and think that doing house sitting would be an excellent opportunity to explore a region and its culture and people to get a feel for what it is like owning a home there.

Both of us love and have always been around animals, and wouldn't it be for our lifestyle up until now, we would have our own dogs and cats - but that might change when we find a place where we can become more settled. When I, Anna, was younger, I did a lot of horseback riding and also often took care of my sister's horse.

We are non-smokers and we like to keep the house clean and tidy. We are both practical and hands-on when it comes to house owning, and we like to spend time in a remote summer house on an island in the Stockholm archipelago, tending the flowers and plants, cutting grass and weeds and mowing the lawn, chopping wood for the fireplace and doing regular maintenance work. For a period Hippolyt worked in a plant nursery, so his gardening skills are really good - and I am a keen gardener too.

During the day we like outdoor activities like going for long walks in nature; in the summer we go swimming or fishing and boating, in the autumn we like to go look for mushrooms (and then cook some hearty meal!). If in a town, we like to visit museums and exhibits and explore the local food.
As much as we like to be outside we prefer to spend the evenings at home, cooking together, reading, writing or watching a movie - Hippolyt likes sports too.

From spending a lot of time travelling we are good at and used to keeping in touch by email and Skype, and we certainly will send house owners frequent updates and pictures.

Anna has done some house sitting before, but not through a website, and among the experiences is taking care of a Swedish farm with a dog, cats, chicken and sheep. References are available.

We speak French (Hippolyt better than me) so we can also communicate in French if you prefer that. I, Anna, speak Spanish fluently, German is Hippolyt's native tongue and we are fluent in English.
