Mado et Antoine sont des hôtes accueillants et attentifs. Notre séjour de trois semaines chez eux s'est très bien passé. Croquette et Fripouille sont de petits amours et les autres animaux (oiseaux et poissons) ne nécessitent pas un énorme entretien. La maison est bien agencée et située dans une rue calme. On trouve des commerces d'alimentation à quelques kilomètres à peine. Gruissan et Narbonne-plage sont situés à environ une heure de voiture. Il y a également de belles promenades à faire dans les environs.

Couple très accueillant et sympathique qui a l'avantage de vivre près de ce beau massif des Corbières et animaux très intéressants , particulièrement une chienne très intelligente. Merci

My husband, Howard, and I recently did a house sit for Mado and Antoine. I was a bit nervous because this was the first time we were sitting for a French couple - up until then we had only sat for British ex-pats and I wasn't sure my French was up to it - Howard doesn't speak French at all. I needn't have worried though - Mado and Antoine couldn't have been more welcoming and made us feel relaxed and at home. Mado actually speaks quite good English (although she professes she doesn't!) and Antoine understands more English than he lets on. Between us we communicated just fine. She introduced us to family and friends and we spent a delightful couple of days together at the start and end of the sit. The animals are wonderful too - the dogs in particular are very entertaining! Douzens is quite small and the villagers are very friendly. In the summer they hold events in the square - al fresco meals, sometimes with entertainment laid on. There is a small supermarket next door but we did our main shopping at the Super U in Trèbes. Douzens is between Carcassonne and Narbonne, in the heart of the Corbières wine region, so there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities and lots of good quality, reasonably priced wine! A trip to Lagrasse is not to be missed! All in all we had a relaxing, comfortable stay and we will definitely keep in touch.
