Needs and animals

International relations | 3 Dogs | 1 Cat

We have tree "local" young dogs. The ones who survive the conditions in winter. The dogs are not allowed in the house. The cat has is own way to enter or get away from the house. Cat and dogs receive their "industrial" food. Fruit trees (60) receive water automaticaly. Same for the very small lawn in the patio. ( grass to be cut once in a month). Soooooooo, the house sitter is like in his own house in the suburbs. The house is non smoking.

House

New house build on 20 acres. Twelve miles south of Tupungato. The middle of nowhere, right in the wine valley of Uco. From the house you only see the fantastic views of the cordillera de los Andes. Elevation 3600 Ft. In front a 16.000 Ft mountain, and North side you see the 18.000 ft of the Cordon where the movie "7 years in Tibet " was filmed. Dry air, No mosquitoes. Good fruits and veges. Best meat "in the world" . All our neighbors are gauchos ( cow boys). Bodegas are all around ( Bousquet, Rutini, Azul, Salentein...) This is Malbec region with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay, Petit Verdot, Pinot noir etc Nights in total silence under thousands of stars. Mattresses and bedding are the best money can buy. Three friendly dogs and a super cat. The house is isolated (see photos) in the native bush. Lots of birds, fox and rabbits. Here we have 340 sunny days per year. To me -the owner- this location is a real paradise in the middle a a semi-desert. Good internet connection.

Housing | isolated | View on the mountain

We have a few hundred CD's and the best head set money can buy ( Senheiser 650) No back pain when you sit on our chairs, as they have a moving back. Nice sofa. 27" iMac to watch YouTube or Netflix. Btw we have Netflix, what is the use of Netflix when one live in such an area ? . We throwed our TV in the garbage years ago. There is o much to do here simply enjoying life. Going to the small supermarket 12 miles away. Making good cooking. Or going to the very good restaurant of our friends of the Bodega Azul. Our friends of the Bodega Bousquet have a nice restaurant at the first floor with the view on the volcano Tupungato ... Tu-pun-gato means "el mirador de estrellas" in Quechua language. That is why we named our property Star*Gate. The semi desertic area is full of thorn trees. It means you need to walk with "big shoes". As the air is very dry, you need to drink at least two liters of water every day. The house is luxurious BUT is made for the "think outside the box" people. I'm sure people who live in a big city will not be happy …

Again : the property is isolated ! that's why we live here ! far away from polluted noisy cities. this is the best air of the planet. Shower is taken with mineral water ( well at 600 Ft) the terrass is a paradise for photographer !! the views on the cordillera change every minutes. I have thousands of different photos of the same mountain in front ! Fortunaly we live in an unknown PARADISE. Take some books. Make the round of the property with the dogs. In the evening enjoy the patio. When you wake up, just look outside -from the bed- and look at the breathtaking cordillera, you will tell me thank you. How to arrive here ? 1. Flight to Buenos Aires,(visit city) flight to Mendoza, bus to Tupungato or 2. Flight to Santiago de Chile, flight to Mendoza (superb views) or bus crossing the cordillera (beautifull trip) bus to Tupungato
