I have three cats (2 older and a 9 month kitten). They are all indoor cats but spend most of their time on the screened in porch. They will need to be fed each morning & evening, but will be fine left to their own devices. It is important that they are not let out as we have some street dogs in Cayman, and sometimes they attack Island cats. Please water potted plants once per week, the rest of the garden will be taken care of by a landscaper who comes once per month. A cleaner will come once per week if needed.

I live in a Caribbean cottage which is on stilts, perfect for watching the parrots as they come by every evening. It’s just over 0.5 miles walk to the nearest beach, and perfect to situated in the middle of the island, meaning that both the East and West Bay are easy to access. Perfect t for someone who wants to get away from it all. Has a good sized garden, with plenty of mature fruit trees including breadfruit, Mango and Ackee.

I don’t have cable television but I do have a large collection of DVD’s, as well as Netflix and YouTube (and access to other apps if you have those accounts already) on my smart TV. I have an extensive book collection on a variety of subjects but mainly agriculture/farming, history and a variety of fiction. I also have a record player and have been slowly building up my record collection over the years.
The screened in porch is perfect for coffee or a glass of wine, to sit and have breakfast or after dinner drinks while listening to music.

Savannah is a small cluster of homes located mid way between the East and West sides of the island. My house is near a main road, meaning easy access to and from supermarkets, shops, cafes and other interests. These are available 7 minute drive in one direction and a 5 minute drive in the other. There is a beach good for snorkelling 2 minute drive away.

Cayman is a small cluster of islands, and the island which I live on (Grand Cayman) is only 20miles x8 miles, however for such a small island there is lots to do! It’s one of the best diving and snorkelling locations in the world, the beach just down the road from my house is very popular feeding spot for sea turtles. I’ve even seen a few eagle rays there too! There are many amazing restaurants on the island, including along our famous 7 mile beach. However if you prefer to stay in and cook we have a farmers market on every day in town (15 minute drive) and a variety of supermarkets close by. We have a beautiful and extensive botanic park which is a 20 minute drive away, flat trails through native flora and an ‘orchid walk’ to enjoy. At the botanic park there is also the Blue Iguana Sanctuary, where you can learn about our native and very rare iguanas. The cinema is a 15 minute drive away, as are two museums (Pedro St James and the Cayman Islands Museum).

Take a boat trip out to Stingray City, you can feed the wild stingrays in water that comes up to your chest, a very safe and once in a lifetime opportunity. If don’t dive yet then there are plenty of dive schools in Island, and if you do why not dive one of our many shipwrecks?
I had such a special time during my assignment!
Natalie is super kind, friendly, with a good sense of humor.
Lots of gratitude for my stay in her cute cottage (has everything you would need for a long stay, the temperature is comfy, there are fresh veggies in the yard, and the patio is a beautiful place to spend time). It's in the middle of Grand Cayman which makes going east or west accessible. I am thankful I got to experience this island. Be sure to eat out; there is some great food out there! Bring toiletries to save money given the high cost of living.
I missed the cats the entire week after I left! They are such adorable characters. Easy to care for (litter is automated) and very often can interact with them if you want to.
