We have a 2 year-old-cat called Pocky. She is a house cat so does not go outside (except on the balconies). She is shy at first but becomes very playful once she has got to know you! She will play with anything she can get her paws on so we have lots of toys for her to keep her entertained too.
She needs to be fed twice a day (dry food/wet food), brushed, and played/interacted with daily (10-20 mins a day). Also her litter box will need to be emptied/kept clean. Pocky normally sleeps in her bed in the sitting room (or occasionally on our bed!). We also have some plants which will need to be watered every two days.

The apartment is a new-build at the top of a little hill overlooking Tivat in a lovely family neighbourhood. It is blissfully quiet and has a breathtaking 180-degree view of Tivat and Boka Bay. With high ceilings and huge glass windows, the feel of the apartment is light and airy.
There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, and it is fully equipped with modern furnishings/appliances. The apartment complex is double-door locked so only people with a key fob can enter the building. The complex also has a communal swimming pool which is open in the summer as well as underground parking for our car. Lastly, behind the apartment there are some fantastic walking/hiking trails to do which are very popular with local dog-walkers.
As for the area, the flat is a 10-minute walk downhill to Tivat town and the luxurious Porto Montenegro where there are bars, restaurants, gym, hotels, supermarkets, beach clubs, clothes shops etc. Tivat/Porto Montenegro also has a vibrant expat community which hosts lots of events through-out the year to encourage mixing with the local community - there is always something to do each week (hikes, exercise classes, dinners, dances, sailing)!

We have a local car hire company in our apartment complex (our friend runs it). He offers 35 euros per day for a car hire if you would like to use it for day trips. Lastly, we are also members of the gym - we would happily lend you our membership cards so you can attend during your stay, if you wish.

The mixture of town and sea makes Tivat a very relaxing place to live. There is a small supermarket, takeaway, and alcohol shop (!) at the bottom of our road as you walk into Tivat town centre. As you reach the centre, you will have the sea in front of you complete with a strip of fabulous restaurants, bars, and shops. We normally eat out quite a bit as the prices are reasonable and food is a wonderful mixture of Balkan and Italian!
Everywhere is walking distance from our home - you do not need a car. There is also a great bus/coach service if you want to take a trip to Dubrovnik from Tivat station. Finally local Tivat taxis speak English and are also very cheap if you do want to explore the area with more ease.

The Boka Bay is a beautiful area to discover. Only a 15-minute drive away is the ancient Venetian town of Kotor. There you can also visit Perast which has perhaps the most stunning views of the bay. If you continue up the coast, you will find Herceg Novi (a gorgeous Venetian town on the cliffs where you can go boating into the sea caves), and then finally a 1.5 hour drive away is Croatia and Dubrovnik. On the opposite side of Boka Bay is Lustica Bay which is a new development with fancy shops, restaurants, spas and a fun place for some luxury.
If you go South from Tivat, you will pass the party-town of Budva (25-min drive), then onto Sveti Stefan (the Beckhams holiday here), and finally Bar which is on the border with Albania (1.5 hour drive). Further into the country, you can explore the ancient town of Cetinje (1 hour drive), Skadar Lake (1.5 hour drive) and many many vineyards! Although Rakija (brandy) is the national drink, Montenegro makes a beautiful red/white wine (Vranac) which is well worth a try and an explore round the vineyards which will be more than generous with the tastings!

I was delighted to spend 10 days in Montenegro and specially in Tivat. Alex and Martin made me feel at home. They made everything possible to answer my questions and we kept in touch during my stay. We really had a good time before and after they came back. Thank you for driving me to Kotor and the delicious Currys. Pocky lady is a funny shy cat that I got to like when she decided I was worth it. 😁 She loves to play with anything she can find. I'll miss the place and I'll be definitely happy to come back if our dates meet.
Que dire! J'aime définitivement être membre de Nomador : les rencontres humaines sont au top et garder des animaux, en l'occurence Pocky, un chatte très timide mais très joueuse, c'est juste du bonheur. On a pris le temps de s'accoutumer, je suis arrivée en avance, avant le départ, c'était juste parfait ainsi toutes les recommandations ont pu être faites. Et le processus d'apprivoisement a pu se faire en douceur. Pocky adooooorrreeeee jouer, elle a son caractère comme tous les chats, mais c'est une chatte adorable.
