We have a very affectionate standard poodle (Frida) that needs some companionship while we're away. She grows attached to people very fast and is a great friend to have with you while you explore our little slice of paradise.
We don't cut Frida like a normal poodle and so you don't need to worry about walking around town with poms and all that. She's very fit and loves running or playing catch with a ball. Lot's of people know Frida around town.
Frida has two grandparents who live in Moss and usually take care of Frida from Tuesday until Wednesday each week.
Frida needs breakfast and toilet betwen 7-9am and dinner and toilet between 7-9pm and a nice walk each day. A shower every second week will also keep her nice and clean :-)
We'll book her in for a hair cut halfway through the period.
Frida is a good walker but can pull a little, especially in the first 5 minutes if she is excited. We are strict with her about this, but it requires some strength. She weighs just under 20kg, so you should be comfortable managing a dog of this size.

The main feature of our house is the uninterrupted view over the fjord. Both during the day and at night it's great to sit watching the boats go past while reading a book or listening to music.
The house is surrounded by lots of grass area between the other houses, meaning you can walk just 20 meters from the door to begin throwing the ball with Frida.

Our house is in a town called Moss, situated 45 mins south of Oslo by train or car.
We live on the edge of town right by the water and bordering a small nature reserve. It's still an easy stroll into town, around 2-3km, but we like being out here next to nature and lots of walking trails.
In the winter we can get snow or have quite mild conditions, it really depends week to week. When there is lots of snow, you can go cross country skiing right from the front door.
If it's a good winter, the lakes will freeze providing good opportunities for ice skating and cross country skiing. There's also a free outdoor ice skating rink in the centre of town that gets some help to stay frozen for the entire winter.
There are over 100km of walking trails on our island Jeløy, and much more within a short drive. The landscapes look very different depending on whether snow has fallen.

Vi bor på utkanten av byen rett ved vannet og et lite naturreservat. Det er en lett gåtur inn til byens sentrum, rundt 2-3 km. Vi trives godt så nærme skogen og vannet. Det er mange turstier som begynner rett ved leiligheten.
Om vinteren kan det være både kaldt med mye snø, eller mildt og tørt, det varierer fra uke til uke. Ved snøfylte dager kan man gå på langrenn rett fra inngangsdøren! Når kuldegradene kryper ned mot riktig kalde dager fryser innsjøen (Vansjø, 3.5 km fra leiligheten) og man kan gå på langrenn og skøyter. Det er også en skøytebane i sentrum som holdes frossen gjennom hele vinteren.
