We have a small portuguese podengo dog, Filo. He is a real character with lots of energy. Filo needs a 40 minute walk each morning, a morning and evening feed, and some morning cuddles. He has separation anxiety, so cannot be left alone in the house. We have trained him to be left in the car for up to 1 hour at a time, and have friends who are willing to come and look after him if you want to head out for the day/evening. Ensuring filo is kept company at all times is an extremely important part of looking after him. Other than this, he is a low maintenance dog who will spent most days lying in the sun. In addition to looking after Filo, we need you to water our garden daily, which takes about 1 hour each day. It needs to be done when the sun is low, so either before 7.30am or after 8.30pm. Other than Filo and the garden, there are no other jobs to do!

Our home is located in a valley just on the outskirts of the village of Avo. It is a picturesque area with wildflowers, regenerating oak and olive trees, and the sound of birds a constant companion. We have three sets of neighbours within 500m of the house - perfect for that extra onion you forgot to buy from the shop, but far enough away to feel private in the house. The village of Avo is a tourist destination during the summer months, but in June it's the perfect space to hide away: two minimarkets, a shop, a pharmacy, a bank, a post office and a bakery and a bar. There is a river beach where you can swim too. The surrounding area is full of glorious river beaches, mountain walks and old ruins full of history.
