I spent a month in Nantes with Helia, and had a wonderful stay. The house is fantastic – lovely and warm in winter with excellent wifi, and the most amazing permaculture garden. It's conveniently close to a big supermarket and a nice stroll (or short bus/tram ride) into the heart of the city. Hadrian and Elizabeth are warm and welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed. Helia, their cat, is a beauty, though could be a little territorially aggressive at times. After a while I could tell when her mood was going to change and I took to carrying a toy in my pocket, so when the tail swishing started I could distract her with play! She got used to me being there eventually. She definitely seemed to love company (she usually wanted to sit near me) even if she wasn't exactly sure what I was doing in her home. As for Nantes, well I found it the most incredible, arty city. There is so much creativity there and I could've stayed a lot longer. I ran out of time to explore the surrounding area!
