About Carole & Jed:
We are two family members (mother-in-law and son-in-law) from the British Isles, among the farmlands of Devon, having built, renovated and maintained our family homes when as a whole family.

We have looked after various houses/farms and pets and between us owned cats and dogs and have now carried out sixteen house and pet sits: Dogs, cats, alpaca farm, ponies, chickens, and a tortoise and two 'helpx' projects.

In 2016 we house sat near Carcassonne where we cared for seven cats, six feral, for a three month period. We also managed to find a French family to take one of the feral cats that was struggling among the others. The French family from the next village said of dear Blanc the female cat (which we called Blancie-Blanc) that she had really settled into their home after a period of hiding in a cupboard for weeks.

Having so far completed our last four house-sits in 2022/23, sixteen in total from 2015, we had taken some time off to finish renovating my home, upgrading the solar and battery storage instillation, damp proofing walls, etc., and after taking a vacation in Brittany this summer, we would like to resume house and pet sitting once more.

What can we bring to the assignment:
A high standard of tidiness and attention to detail and a great love of animals, as if they were our own. We are organised, reliable, conscientious and endeavour to ensure trust and confidence in leaving both pets and property in our care.

We have just returned home having had Carole & Jed looking after our very spoilt dog and house for several days. Carole & Jed were absolutely brilliant, this was our first experience at having a house sitter and of course we were a bit nervous but they immediately made us feel comfortable and reassured us that all would be well which it was. We returned to a very clean and tidy home and I think my dog is now more spoilt than ever. We cannot praise them highly enough and have arranged for them to return again for a longer period in the new year. so thank you Carole, Jed & Mindahome for your help."

“Carole and Jed have housesat for me three times now. Once last winter for nearly three months, then on two subsequent occasions for five days each time, these last two times looking after my cocker spaniel (who loves them!). They are 100% reliable, 100% trustworthy, lovely people, and on each occasion have taken care of the house beautifully and left it clean and tidy. Carole is a keen gardener and did a fantastic job of digging over the allotment in the wintertime.

I write to you on behalf of Carole and Jed, who I understand will be staying at your house next year. We have had the very great pleasure of having Carole and Jed stay with us for several weeks last summer. It was an altogether wonderful experience, and we were sad to see them leave.
Even if ours was not a "housesit" proper [Helpx], Carole and Jed looked after our house in our absence also, and did a great job doing so. They came as "helpers", and offered their substantial experience in renovating properties in exchange for the possibility of staying in a region they wanted to discover, the Poitou-Charentes. Together we worked on the house (we have a rather large and sprawling property with 3 hectares and many dependencies) and we learned a lot from them during the weeks they stayed with us.

Please be assured that Carole and Jed are completely trustworthy and responsible. They have renovated and built many houses and your house could not be in safer hands. This summer, Jed completed repair and insulation work, he proved to be very experienced and gifted with wood and with his help we were able to build a lovely bar. Carole also has great experience with running and upgrading/renovating properties. Moreover, she is a seasoned gardener. Together, this wonderful couple brought elegance and style to our home.

In summary, I warmly recommend Carole and Jed for a housesit.
