I am a retired university professor who has lived in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico for the last 11 years. Three animals live with me: an obese, one-eyed dog and two young orange cats. I live above the famous "La Punta" area of Puerto Escondido, where international surfers hang out with the locals. Public transportation is plentiful to go into town, or elsewhere.
