It was great fun taking care of Maryline's six cats and one hen. This lady hen was super endearing, a master of communication knowing full well how to make her needs met and the sweetest of companions. The cats were cautious around her. I mostly interacted with four of the cats, often having three of them sleeping on sofas and chairs near me in the gîte where I was lodging. Two of them were particularly loving. Although Maryline's place is a bit isolated, I never felt lonely having the animals nearby. I enjoyed spending a little time before and after Maryline's trip getting to know her. My stay was a quiet, regenerative, and withdrawn time away for which I am grateful.
