Hi!
My name is Heather. I am a former primary school teacher from Portland, Oregon in the United States. Today I am an online TEFL-certified teacher working with adults and teenagers in countries throughout the world! I am currently based in Italy and the UK as I build my business. My goal is to become a self-sufficient digital nomad. In addition to traveling, I love walking/hiking, reading and playing the piano.
I love animals and miss having my own furry family member. However, my current lifestyle doesn't allow me to have a pet. I have started pet sitting in exchange for a place to stay while traveling as a way to spend time with animals. When I am in Portland, I have several kitties that I stay with while their people are on vacation. In addition to this, I have started dog sitting for some friends in Italy when they go on vacation. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience with caring for fish, lizards, chickens, hamsters and mice. I have worked with many animals and am comfortable grooming, walking, feeding, playing with and caring for your pets. Having used catsitters myself in the past, I will update you as frequently as you would like on your pet(s) - providing photos and videos. It's reassuring to see your beloved pet is happy and healthy while you are not at home!
In addition to caring for your pet(s), I am an experienced housesitter and will look after your house plants and garden.

Heather went above and beyond her house sitting duties and really made us feel comfortable being away for so long. She took superb care of our cat, giving her all the attention she needed and doing a great job addressing her special needs. It was obvious she actually enjoyed spending time with her. The house was very well maintained and clean and the garden was in good condition. We received timely and detailed communications on everything going on with the cat, house, and garden. Heather is a very responsible and upbeat person and we could not have found a better match for our situation. We highly recommend Heather as a house/pet sitter and sincerely hope to have her back for another stay in the future.
