Hello!

My name is Aeriol Liera. I'm retired, 59 yr., Canadian woman with a great passion for new adventures & all animals. I travel from Canada 3 times a year to home/pet sit. I love immersion in new locales & a slower pace of travel - being in homes & cuddling with pets! Settling in with home/pet sits longer than 2 weeks are ideal & shorter sits are possible when I have a gap of time between longer arrangements.

I do not charge for my services nor travel expenses. I appreciate being picked up from the airport/train/bus station nearest to you & I am competent & comfortable using various regional/local transit systems. I also appreciate a few groceries in the home so I don’t have to go out shopping right upon arrival, if possible.

I have had my own dogs (large & small), cats, fish, stick insects & chickens & a small farm, in Canada, over the past 30 years. Since 2023, I have cared for turkeys, cats & dogs in Canada & France through pet sitting arrangements. I volunteer at a local Cat Cafe/Cat Adoption, in Canada, which I began after our senior cat passed, to pay the love forward to all cats! Now, embarking on travel adventures, I love to spend time with others' cats & dogs, as well as fish, exotics & farm animals!

(No longer at a farm), I own my lovely home in Oshawa, Ontario Canada, (for 11 years, with my not- yet-retired Engineer husband.) At our home, I maintain lush gardens, a fish pond & swimming pool. I can easily take care of your home/grounds/gardens/house plants & pool/pond, if you have these. I can provide pictures & my address for your Google search to verify my home address.

While I am at your home with your pets, they are my priority & I focus on their well being. I really love hanging out with animals ❤️. I will follow the routines you have established with your pets & meet all of their requirements. I have experience with giving pets medication, with senior pets & emotionally delicate pets & provide the gentle care they require. I have studied the "Trust Technique" which helps animals to relax & be at ease with me. I will also treat your home with utmost care & be very clean & tidy in your home.

Besides travelling, I enjoy knitting, gardening, bicycling, walking/hiking, home renovation, history, making art & reading. I have studied gardening (“Ecological Living”, Cortes Island, BC Canada), as well as plumbing, electrical, woodworking & tile laying, (“Courses for the Home Owner”, Durham College, Oshawa, Ontario Canada). I am also a community herbalist, wildcrafter & seed saver.

I am quiet, thoughtful, adaptive, reliable, responsible, very clean & tidy. I don't smoke & I drink only occasionally. I eat simply, am health conscious & fit. I retired from my own business which I operated for 30 years, formulating & marketing natural herbal skin & body care products in Canada. I have a 30 yr. son, working on his PhD in Biology, in Canada. He plans to save the world from microplastics!

I don’t usually have a vehicle, travelling from Canada, so if it is required, I may not be able to accommodate you unless there is a work-around. I have had previous hosts add me as a driver to their insurance if they have a car for me to use. This is handy in case of emergencies. I have a clean driving record & no criminal record, with documentation. My Canadian driver's licence is recognized as legal in France & UK. I also have personal & medical insurance coverage, as well as vehicle, liability & accident coverage for driving a vehicle other than my own. I can supply documents, as required. If you have a bicycle that I can use that is a bonus!

I can offer a recent testimonial from Claire B., in Toulouse France, whose home & 2 cats I sat with in 2023-2024, (with plans to sit for her every Christmas holiday season!) I also can provide character references from 3 women with whom I've had business relationships over 10+ years & who have become good friends. I have just joined Nomador this spring/2024 so I don't have recommendations here yet. I am a member on several sites & groups specific to home & pet sitting.
