As a family
We're freelance filmmakers and writers and have long stretches when we can work away from home.
Also, we live in a beautiful 300 year old farm house in Bavaria, near the Ammersee and only an hour from the Alpes. The house has been restored 30 years ago and we've set up what friends refer to as an adult playground in the barn – a real cinema, a sauna, table tennis and table soccer, a very out of tune piano. The previous renter at this place was a landscaper gardener and has turned the 1000 square metre garden into a stunning wild beauty – there's always something flowering or carrying fruit, amongst other things apple and pear trees, lots of berries, a veggie garden that we try to tend to as much as we can. Also we have 9 hens that live in a pretty house made of old doors and windows, and who gift us with eggs every day. Our dog Fuku is a very kind and cuddly street mix from Spain. He loves running but can also spend a full day cuddled up and relaxing with you at home. He can stay home alone for a few hours at a time, but he doesn't love it very much – he'd much rather be in your canoe on the Amper river or the Ammersee and tag along for those day hikes in the Ammergau Alpes. We can recommend dozens of half to full day excursions from here that you'll love, and you can use our Kayaks, our SUP, some mediocre bikes (and a great road cycle) and most of the time our little Fiat 500 electric, since we like to travel by train and leave that one here.
The house is heated by wood oven for comfort but also by an old central heating. Your chores would involve hanging out with Fuku and feeding him twice a day, as well as feeding the chicken in the morning and cleaning their place once every few days. That's it. The rest is pure joy!
