A few years ago I began traveling through France volunteering via the workaway system in order to learn French. During my second workaway I was asked to stay as winter caretaker of a château in the town of Figeac while the owner was away. It was an interesting experience and one I repeated the following winter. After this I decided to focus on house sitting and used it to travel the world - Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and now back in Europe - Germany, the UK, Portugal France and Spain. Most of my sits have been organized with other websites but I'm trying Nomador once more as it seems to have a lot of offers in Europe, where I wish to stay for the time being. I can provide many references for all my previous sits on request.
I work online (A mix of mostly translation and some website and 3d design work) and I'm developing a software project of my own so I appreciate peace and quiet. I don't mind being alone or temperature extremes as I've lived both in Winter in Ireland and Summer in Spain, and I get along quite well with dogs and cats. I know how to cook for myself and can manage some simple maintenance work and gardening.

I can thoroughly recommend John who looked after our house with a friend, Hana, for almost a month. We spent a couple of days with them before our holiday so we could show them the in and outs of our home. They very quickly picked up the nuances involved with looking after an old house and were very conscentious and thoughtful. Our dog and cat immediately took to both of them and from then on were thoroughly spoilt, in the best way possible, I hasten to add - a mutual adoration society! John also kept us well informed whilst we were away. We loved having them both to stay and will definitely keep in touch. We would love it if they could look after the house again. Very highly recommended.
