About James s.
Retired
Hi. I'm James. I'm a recently retired British Police Officer with 27 years policing experience who can still recall a little French and German from my school days. My wife, Tracey, is a hospital administrator with previous nursing experience. We are both mature, in our 50's, taking some time out to tour Europe while we have this wonderful opportunity to do so.
Regarding animal welfare, we have, over the years, as one of our daughters is also a Veterinarian, had experience with a whole menagerie of animals ranging from mice, rats, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, a cat, a bearded dragon and last but not least our Labrador of 13 years. We have no experience with horses, wild fowl, farm animals or birds, but are open to new experiences. My wife and I will carry out our responsibilities of looking after your home and animals with the care, respect and dignity that is expected of persons in a position of responsibility.
We thought about trying house sitting as a way of being able to travel through Europe and still provide a service to people and animals who need our help.

They were amazing! I cant believe how incredible my plants were especially as they suffered one of the wettest and coldest winters in the Dordogne for the last 10 years. They were in constant contact about the dog and the house which made us very relaxed about being away. The house when we came back seemed even cleaner than when we left and our dog Eddy mopes by the door looking for them. He obviously loved having them around too. Cant recommned them highly enough and hope they can bear to come back again.

Having not used Nomador before, we were a little hesitant at leaving our house and cats to complete strangers for several months – as it turned out, we had absolutely no reason to worry, quite the contrary in fact. James and Tracey were extremely responsive, flexible and accommodating in the initial planning of the stay. They did a great job of looking after the house, the garden and the cats, and integrated well with the neighbours. While we were away one of our cats became unwell and had to be put down: Tracey and James did a wonderful job looking after the cat when he was sick and kept us fully updated in a calm and supportive way. When we returned the house was spotless, and there were even a couple of orchids to welcome us home, and fridge with basic necessities. We would recommend them 100%% as house/pet sitters – you would be lucky to have them!
