Hello! We’re Amaya (Andrea) Williams and Eric Schambion, a responsible, trustworthy, animal loving married couple who would love to look after your home and pets while you're away.
As both property owners and landlords, we understand what entrusting your home to someone means. Rest assured we will treat your property with the same care and attention as if it were our own.
We're new to the Nomador network, but have prior experience house sitting and caring for pets.
Amaya grew up in Montana, USA and Eric is a native of Alsace, France. Since 2006, we have been living our dream and traveling the world by bicycle. So far we’ve cycled through 108 countries and ridden almost 200,000 kilometers. Prior to becoming full-time nomads, we lived in Darmstadt, Germany where Eric worked as an engineer for the European Space Association and Amaya taught at the Technical University.
In 2016, we decided to slow down our travel schedule and combine bicycle touring with pet sitting. This allows us to explore regions more deeply and take a break from the bicycles.
We are financially secure, and combine a careful and sensible approach to everything, with a sense of fun. Our experiences and lifestyle mean that we are responsible, reliable and ready for anything. Through our 11+years of non-stop travel, we have been blessed to interact with many pets. Connecting with new animals is easy for us…the problem comes when it’s time to say good-bye!
Both of us grew up with dogs and Amaya also had cats, fish, gerbils, and turtles in the house. As cyclists, you can rest assured we’ve got the energy to make sure your pet gets the exercise it needs to stay healthy.
Amaya loves long walks and is always thrilled to have a dog to accompany her. Belly rubs and games of fetch are also on offer for your pups. Kitties will get lots of cuddles, care and attention.
With regular photos, we can keep you updated on your pet’s activities while you’re away. We can pick up mail, water house plants and do light gardening and regular cleaning.
Since joining Nomador, we have completed four successful pet sitting jobs in France. In 2019, Amaya began volunteering with the local dog rescue organization in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal (CRAPAA). Through the organization, we have acted as a foster family for three special needs dogs.

Amaya and Eric were the perfect house and dog sitters. They are completely independent, took care of the house perfectly, not forgetting my many plants and loved and cared for the dogs beyond the call of duty. They are a lovely couple and I hope we will see them again. The dogs are still missing them.
